Quite possibly the hardest final I have ever took. There were Cell Kinetics questions that I had never even thought of wanting to know/calculate. Numerous diagrams that he had said we would not need to know in detail, just generalities. Furthermore. he said we would not need to know any of the specific drugs associated with various recombinant technologies and the system they are expressed in. I think I got that question at least correct, but I'm not entirely sure. The only reason why I think I got that correct was because I had an at length discussion with my Dad about the possiblity of using these drugs as a potential Cancer vaccine. In the weeks preceding te final exam, the professor led us into thinking that the test was going to be relatively similar in style and difficulty of question to the midterm (if not easier); however, he did mention we would have at least 1 critical thinking question at the end. (which after discussing with numerous classmates, no one was sure how to calculate) Upon opening the exam, the only thing remotely congruent was the font. Also, he said that we should expect the exam to be between 1 and 2 hours and will definitely not use up the whole 3 hour slot. After he called for all exams to be turned in, I looked around at 95% of the students were still glued to their seats furiously scribbling every last bit down. The exam was 10 questions long and had about 2 parts per question (short answer/essay format). Even worse, he was always reluctant to discuss the final grading scale, so I have no idea what I have in the class. Needless to say, I'm quite worried. Currently, with a straight scale I have a B, but I'm worried about my final grade. I hope that the final curve is reasonable, but from the looks of things, it probably won't.
Edit: I'm not particularly mad or anything, I just hate getting B's in classes, let alone C's. I guess this is a needless rant, that didn't really make me feel better. I hope that everyone taking finals right now has a better finals week, and an even better spring break!
