What is a good chess opening book? for more advanced players? None of that newb standard stuff guico piano, etc. I'm specifically interested in openings that will lead to closed systems which is why I usually play queens gambit as white and sicilian/ king's indian.

Additionally, are there any good chess forums?

As for the openings, I would suggest getting specific books based on the opening of your choice. Also as you are around 1700ish or so (from what I saw in your blog) you may want to consider getting the Encyclopedia of Chess Openings (ECO). Really the ECO series is all you need, but if you would like specific opening books check out the reviews done by Jeremy Silman: http://www.jeremysilman.com/book_reviews/book_reviews.html

Youtube is also a fairly decent place for chess videos on openings, and has helped my game a fair amount. Several Experts/masters and even some GMs producing streams of high quality videos. I'd mainly suggest looking at "krakkaskak" who is a gm, as well as "kingcrusher" who is about 2200 level.

Also let me know if you find a good book on the King's Indian as I'm looking for a nice one myself.

Sometime this month I will post a list for the 15 best chess books out there that have a teaching focus, i.e. the very best out there to learn from. A good friend of mine who actually owns a library of chess books, who has read most of his library himself (he is a grand master) picked the very best for anyone aspiring to become a master. I don't know were the phuck I left it but as soon as I find it I am posting it.
