I have never been diagnose with insomnia before, nor have I ever, but I hold the symptoms of it. About two months ago, I had a Precalc final, I was averaging a B in the class, until the final exam. The exam hours were 4 hours long, people took their time with it. Me? Oh yes, I slept two hours in and woke up with practically one hour for the exam. I feel so foolish right now, I cannot believe how I screwed up. This has happened before in another final but not two hours in. Sometimes, I don't even know if I am getting better from these symptoms or getting worse.
Sigh.
Long story short, this all began when I was 1.5 years in college life, juggling classes/school and socializing/family. I never actually value time, I value it more and more now. I've had all-nighters, cramming 4 finals in one week, 2 finals in another. Stress built up, depression. And then a girlfriend which I had dated for 7 months. I know, I know. Most of this is useless junk, but that's what a blog is for right? To empty out one's emotions; their life. There are so many things that come in, and I don't know which to blame other than myself. Although, of course, I don't really prioritize myself well. When I was dating this girl, all she wanted was "us" time, I neglected school and for that I paid for it. And when our relationship ended, that gave/drove me sleepless nights.
Sigh, but come this fall. I am going to try my best to fall asleep and wake up refreshed, anew. I need to get these classes over with. I am sick of lingering around; feeling hopeless and frozen in time while everyone leaves me. Although I passed PreCalc with a D(prereq), I have to retake it for the credits to transfer.
Me vs PreCalc.
1st: Flunk - girlfriend. 2nd: Prof. was hard as hell. 3rd: Oversleeping in finals. 4th: ?
Wish me luck in the future guys, currently I am not taking PreCalc, but I will in the future, and god damn, I am motivated.

Why dont you get a precalc for dummies and a tutor?
That way you will sleep thru it.
Also if your major is not math oriented at all you can do College Algebra. Which is basically a dead end class that fills up your math requirement and is easier than Pre Calc.

My major is EE, and by now, the math has sank in, I just rushed through this third try. Sigh. Sometimes I don't know what I am doing, really.

My father suffers from insomnia quite often and he uses 'Valerian root' in pill form. All natural. It doesnt make you drowsey, but relaxes the body and mind to allow you to fall asleep naturally. He says it works, and ive known other people that have also used it with success. You can get a bottle for under ten dollars at your local health store, its worth a try.
Good luck

Electrical & Computer Engineering, ironic part is, this is the part of the major I am suffering whereas circuitry etc, I do absolutely fine in. But then again, most of those classes are night classes.

Yea, also try herbal tees, some brands will have a calming effect and make you drowsy as well.
Dude, start working out, running etc. You need physical release from your mental stress and at the same time you are making your body tired which means it will be easier to sleep. Also cut any sugar, caffeine and nicotine from your diet
Hell, I can't sleep if I'm having a strong cup of coffee at night.
