The numbers represent the amount of reps. J = 11, Q = 12, K = 13, A = 14 (or 1 if you wanna be a baby)
So we take the deck and spread it into a pile. ro sham bo to see who goes first. Draw a card, do what it says. Then its next guy's turn. We would do this back and forth taking turns until one of us failed.
The Winner gets to punch the loser in the arm, but if the loser went first and lost he has a chance to tie because the winner has to match his turns.
This game is really fucking hard. I don't know if we ever finished the whole deck. (I think its 402 push-ups total.) Man does it feel good to pull a 2-heart after an A-club
My other friends used to play a variation of this game originally, we put set some rules to it and as far as we know we invented it.
EDIT- Throw in some jokers and make them equal to ten *plyo push-ups.
*A plyo push-up is where you do a normal push-up on the down stroke but on the up stroke you jump in the air with feet and hands and/or clap in the air.
the way me and my friends used to play it was set the deck down, and each card was worth its number in pushups, and we'd go through card by card with a 30 second break max in between sets, and go through the entire deck or until everyone loses, as people get knocked out every round the people that complete it would punch the losers in the arm for each round they can go, its actually quite entertaining
I don't know if this is OK to bump, I guess some other people get to see it too that never saw it.
Anyway, I played the game with a friend the other day (after I have been lifting pretty regularly since 2011 and pretty hard the last months) and we finally completed the entire deck. Just barely. My friend wasn't allowing more than like a few seconds break between card draws either.
I tallied up all the pushups we did. 69 reg, 41 feet raised, 28 clap, 53 diamond = 191
His tally came up to 161, obviously the numbers are opposite weighted for his. The clap pushups were the worst. Lucky I got less of those.
