People are so uneducated in matters and i feel shouldn't be alowd to express there ignorant inbred opinions in things they just don't know about. On this Article there was poll's that asked the question, do you think steroid's played a roll in the Benoit tragedy? My answer was no, the fashion in which the murders were done is in no way related to roid rage, roid rage would most likely result in him beating them to death with his hands or an instrument of some sort, not suffocating and drugging them hours apart and the bibles were a indicator that it wasn't roid rage.
After i read this i realized my thoughts were based off just stuff i heard and i looked into anabolic steroid usage, side effects, and the long term mental effects of steroid use. What i found is that my thoughts were more or less accurate originally. Roid Rage is apparently a semi-myth in the sense that there is cases that seem to show it being a factor, but it's not anywhere near as common as social myth's say it is.
Other side effects of steroid use included inlarging of a part of the heart and an increased chance of heart disease, the fact/myth of the penis getting smaller, is indeed a myth, while using steroids your testicles do indeed shrink, because a majority of the testicles mass is sperm production and Steroids can effect the sperm production, as an end result you would temporarily shrink, when you stopped using steroids they would return to normal size within a month.
Now that i went over that there wasn't much else to say about steroids especilly in it's mental effects which except for roid rage were non-existent from what i was reading, if someone can find me a better source to say that then by all means link me and i will edit ignorance out of my post.
Now from the article i read It was not just steroids found in his system, there were 3 drugs. Anabolic Steroids, Xanax, and a painkiller called Hydrocodone. If you read the links to all those it seems out of the three of them, xanax is the one with the closest known side effects that could contribute to this, while the Pain Killers seem to have nothing to do with it, and apparently the long term effect's of steroid use are unknown on that other link, but i read on other places the stuff i wrote above.
Then again this tragedy could be the result of a combination of drugs Benoit was on, or he could of just lost it and it had nothing or little to do with the drugs, after all his son had something wrong with him and the pressure of his career as a professional wrestler.

The article that made me write this i think was linked on the AOL home page, here is the link I think they are trying to make this a steroid issue way too much when it isn't, it seems as though "Steroids" is just the new hot word that creates controversy.
Also anyone who checked out the side effects of xanax:
unusual risk-taking behavior, decreased inhibitions, no fear of danger;
depressed mood, thoughts of suicide or hurting yourself;
that is 2 of them, and those side effects seem to go along with how he wrestled, he was a very extreme guy, i don't really watch wrestling anymore, but when i did i liked Benoit a lot because of his wreckless attitude, no i'm kind of happy i stopped watching.
P.S. I decided to put the lastshadow joke just to lesson the seriousness of how i wrote this, for no other reason.
