The goal I'm setting is 500 points a day, no matter how many games that may take. That can mean five games, or on a day like today, twenty-fucking-one.
That's right, 21 games to reach 1500. I haven't played this many games in one day for years, and it really showed. Most of my games were incredible sloppy, with micro mistakes causing losses left and right. Nevertheless, I've reached my goal and I can hang up my mouse for the day. In each of these summaries I'll upload what I feel were my strongest and weakest games of the day, for critiques, advice, laughs, and so on.
Today I think I played my best game against Brood on Peaks of Baekdu. During the game I felt very uncomfortable moving around the map, very vulnerable. I can see why a lot of Protoss pros had great success on this map, it's very hard to tell what a Protoss is doing and where his army is. I think my macro was at the point where I could overcome that. I was able to put away my anxiety and simply attack through both routes, instead of worrying that my divided force would get rolled over in time. My worst game was immediately following the Peaks game, a TvP on Gaia. The third game of my best-of-three with Brood. This may possibly be the worst reaction to a reaver drop that you're likely to see, coupled with horrible macro and expansion timing. I was extremely dissatisfied with this game. I continue to struggle with TvP on Gaia, which is unfortunate because lots of Protoss players want to play there. That replay is here: http://download.yousendit.com/6A44DFEF14CD2617
Hopefully tomorrow will go a lot smoother. At this rate, it will take me 168 games to reach C level.
