EPTIn the last blog, I promised to show some pictures from the "galaxy" map. (Its not actually the whole galaxy, just a region).
Star Tale: Ground Wars Units Introduction
I have a .xcf file which I will make available (public domain ofcourse) when ready which is the full master copy. Its a large file currently around 50mb. With that you would be able to do whatever you want to the map easily. For example change the background, change the fonts, add your own planets or whatever. The master file has everything in separate layers and organised neatly in folders so you can toggle on/off what you want to view etc.
For the following pictures I have turned off the individual planets/moons etc. We are just looking at the basic layout of the Factions in the Star Tale world. I recommend viewing them at 100% zoom. Also these are slightly compressed jpegs so not quite as sharp. The entire map is 4096 x 3072 pixels.
The Terran Bloc is located at the centre of the map. Indeed the map is of the region from their perspective essentially:

The first advanced alien civilisation that the Terrans encountered were the Farlin. Their home area is located to the "North" of the Terran Bloc:

The second major Faction the Terrans met were the Petra. These guys are out to the West:

Eventually these 3 civilisations were to become allies to a degree, especially when the overwhelming threat of the Druj became apparent. Extremely dangerous, this alien race approaches from the South East of the map:

In order to combat the Druj, the Terrans created a programme of elite soldiers. However, the tests werent altogether successful. Reavers and Raiven control systems to the South West and North East of the Terran Bloc respectively:

That brings us up to the present day situation more or less. Unfortunately for these space faring civilisations, a new potential threat is emerging. The powerful Kintek Sovereignty is making its entrance into the region, advancing from the North West:

Lastly, a young race is incubating in the far South West. Yet to explode out into neighbouring territories, the Skane are building in strength, their numbers are increasing:
