I have been spending a lot of time working on fixing old tracks and updating them as well as starting new projects.
Since the last blog, I've added a couple new tracks:

and the newest I just finished this weekend,

Each one of these projects has taken hours of work, but overall I feel like I'm getting more and more used to Ableton and finding easier and more efficient methods of doing the things I want to do, as well as growing more muscle memory for keyboard shortcuts and navigating the program. I am well aware that I am still very inexperienced compared to some, and I have a lot to learn. I can only hope this would mean my work will grow more comprehensive as well as refined.
I recently learned a little more about making a "master chain" for a final mixdown. I am still pretty new to the whole thing, but I feel like I've gained a little progress in overall quality and desired volume. I feel I tend to make my tracks pretty low volume and then end up having to boost them pretty far to get where I want. I'm definitely keeping that in mind now.
There are many differing methods that producers like to use, so it's my goal to explore as much as I can and hopefully in turn find my own little tricks to mess with.
On that note, there are also a lot of hardware devices and programs that people use, but I've been trying to stick with the philosophy pointing towards using what you have and making the most of it before moving on to other tools. I've heard many a story about a room full of dusty hardware that barely gets touched, and that sometimes the best work flow actually occurs between the artist and his computer.
Also, I got in contact with a small record label named Sisyphean Records, based on promotion of artists and mixes. In further discussion with the man in charge, I found that he shares a view of simplicity in music as well as artists that define their own sound and stay away from the mainstream. I was happy to be added to their lineup, and I have a track selected for an upcoming compilation. Any exposure and friendship this far is definitely greeted with open arms, and I am very excited to see where this will take me. I've already encountered a handful of wonderful people in their group and great artists as well.
