Basically, I thought I may as well enter another competition so I'd feel like I got a fair shake at the thing. So winter break was a lot of hard work: every day was basically: eat, sleep, practice, and Game of Thrones (hehe). In the end, I was actually fortunate enough to win first place in the end--meaning the opportunity to perform my piece with the orchestra, under whose auspices the competition had been run. So that's it. Fuck. This fall I get to perform Saint-Saens' Second Concerto with an orchestra.
Thank you everyone for the sick advice. It definitely helped a lot during a time when I felt really down, and when it was really disheartening after a rough semester overall. I was honestly blown away by all the support and thoughtful replies, and it was heartwarming to see that the awesome TL community is still around these days. I'm really grateful, feeling really blessed, and just wanted to say thanks
Peace!
