So I finally decided to watch Death Parade the other day. And I marathoned the entire thing. It was amazing to be watching an amazing series again that gripped me so thoroughly. The entire atmosphere of Death Parade was just phenomenal. It's very odd how relaxing and yet suspenseful it was at the same time. It was like being hyped up and entirely laid back at the same time. The jazz music that played regularly throughout the series hit just the right spot for me.
A lot of complaints I've heard about this anime was that it really didn't explore all the aspects of it's plot. Why do people come to this place when they die? Why are they judged? Why can't the arbiters be human? etc.... But it never bothered me. I didn't need every little detail explained to me to appreciate the story and the characters.
What made Death Parade really shine though, was the final few episodes in which the black haired girl's story was finally unraveled. It was beautifully moving, yet tinted with sadness. It's been a long time since I've been so blown away by an anime.
While I'm not sure Death Parade is a series I'd want to rewatch all the time (like Haruhi for instance), it was one of the best anime watching experiences I've had. Certainly worth the watch.
