I think what Starcraft has truly given me was falling in love with the feeling of improvement, which led me to never be content with who I am and always aim higher. I made a blog post planning to play more a few months ago and getting back in LotV but right around that period I started making (what I considered at the time) absurd amounts of money so I thought the best decision would be to keep doing what I was doing. This actually made me really happy again, not because I like buying expensive stuff and have a fancy life (if I end up spending 1.5k€ in a month I consider myself being extremely wasteful) but because, in my opinion, the feeling of improvement and surpassing the past self is a key component to being happy.
Anyway I can't wait for Starcraft remake. It's going to be awesome if everybody came back for a while. This game has done so much good for our life that I don't think many gamers, pros or casters will shy away from playing again. Imagine if we had Starcraft major tournaments and some tournament system similar to what Starcraft2 has. It would be the dream. I really hope something will happen. In the end we all know which is the best online game ever created ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
I'm not going to hide it, I'm also posting because I want to shamelessly brag about my recent poker results. I know it would be graceful not to do so but I've been told I would fail by so many people (some were also friends, sad right?) that I just want them to see how wrong they were.
I'm having a great poker year (prob gonna hit 100k€ profits between online and live), but I have been having the best results since I started hitting the 600€ and 1000€ tables. Fun thing is my win rate is definitely higher at these tables for a few factors. First off because there I get to play heads up a lot (one on one), which is my favorite format and the one that rewards hard work and studying the most. Then I am more conscious about the money I lose with bad plays and make way less mistakes. Taxes get also higher by a significant margin at lower tables. Lastly at 200€ and 400€ tables we often play without any bad players at the table so winrate naturally goes down a lot.
I'm by no means the best poker player there is but I definitely aim to get better and contend the title with the poker endbosses in the future.
These are my results after I took an intense study break this summer and started shooting the 1k€ and playing heads up. Had a good run but all that study time definitely played a part into that. I need to focus on playing more hands because volume has been low, but other than volume this year my poker journey has been a great success.
Suck it up haters, and <3 to everybody else
