Working was the latest anime I finished. On mal I'd rate it a 6/10 but I almost feel like it's not fair to rate it as such. The problem with Working was I went in with significantly different expectations compared to what I got. I thought it was going to be a slice of life story focused on people working, with a slowly developing romance that didn't pay off until season 3. I expected it to have a little drama, and maybe be based in reality a bit; perhaps by showing what life was like for actual working class people.
Instead, working is almost entirely classified as a comedy in my mind. Unlike the typical "rom coms" I've watched, which have a funny side and a serious side, working! is almost entirely comedy and nearly void of seriousness. A big problem is the suspension of disbelief required to enjoy the show was enormous. It's very difficult to accept that one of the main characters (Inami) punches men on sight because she is afraid of them. Its completely unrealistic and took away from the show every time it was brought up. Other than Inami, Working!'s characters often had other unbelievable attributes to them. For example: Yachiyo always carries a sword around everywhere she goes, Otoo constantly searches for his wife who goes missing for months if not years at a time, etc...
Instead of focusing on interpersonal relationships, the show focused on a more episodic style of comedy. Rarely was there any development between the characters. Ironically by the end of the 3rd season Inami had become a tolerable even enjoyable character (since she was cured of her "androphobia".) However by that point I wanted more....something. More drama, more struggles, more than just silly comedic moments and the other main character, Takanashi, cross dressing. [Can I just add that I'm really tired of having male characters in anime randomly have to cross dress for stupid-ass reasons even though they really don't want to?]
By the end of Working! 2 couples had formed. But only just. And there was no romantic development between either of the couples. Not to mention no real dramatic tension at any point in the show. If you life comedy-styled slice of life maybe this show is for you. But it certainly didn't do it for me.
