Background
I got into eSports about 4 years ago with the start of SC2, was a huge fan of Huk in the GSL (Canadians represent!) and to this day still get chills when I think about MMA’s Blizzcon win.
I met Julie and James (my other co-founders) through an entrepreneurship program in Toronto and after realizing how excited we were about the future of eSports we decided to build something to contribute to it.
We all love Twitch because it enables any gamer to build a personal relationship with a community of viewers. But, we noticed that the chat-room wasn’t designed to facilitate real engagement, and the interface to easily manage interactions wasn’t there either.
So, we asked ourselves, what if every streamer was able to create a personal loyalty platform that helps them identify and reward their most loyal viewers? Viewers would become fans who get access to engaging and novel experiences like choosing the next hero or getting improvised a personal song. Naturally, as viewers enjoy a better experience, streamers would grow their fan base. Revlo was born out of this insight.
What is Revlo?
Revlo is a loyalty platform for streamers that is easy-to-use, simple to set-up (takes less than 5 minutes), and incredibly personal. It’s completely free too!
We designed Revlo to be an interface to enable unique and rewarding interactions between streamers and viewers. Revlo is not designed to automate tasks. That’s why we have both a web and bot redemption interface.
How does Revlo work?
• Set-up the name and rate for your currency
• Choose whether or not to enable gambling
• Create custom rewards based on what your fans like. Here are some examples: revlo.co/amaliuz, revlo.co/ajnrk, revlo.co/tvsboh
• Click deploy!
We also automatically provide a leaderboard for you. There is also a really clean dashboard to manage all the rewards that are redeemed.
What do people think so far?
We’ve been overwhelmed by the support we’ve received from our private beta users. Here is a selection of what they’ve said: http://imgur.com/a/rHP8p#M8x48Z3.
In the past week since we’ve launched, fans have also redeemed 500 streamer-created custom rewards.
Why are we doing this for streamers?
We believe that eSports will become as culturally significant and well regarded as sports like soccer and baseball. By making the viewing experience more engaging, we are contributing to this future in a small way.
We’d love to have you onboard for our beta. Help us figure out how to make the viewing experience more engaging and rewarding for fans around the world. It’s completely free and set-up takes less than 5 minutes!!

Since we are a small start-up, we are limited in the number of streamers we can currently have on Revlo. We are working really hard on scaling our infrastructure, so access should roll out to everyone who signs up fairly quickly.
Heading forward my goal’s to keep blogging a bit here about what it’s like building an eSports start-up (whenever I can stop coding for a bit and find some time to write).
Thanks for reading!

PS: If anyone wants to meet-up at WCS in Toronto shoot me a message we’ll be around!
