Hello TL,
So I'll be visiting Seoul and Shanghai next month, and I was wondering if anyone had any recommendations on things to do or visit (I'm trying to catch some GSL / SSL / Proleague live hopefully), particularly in Seoul. While I've visited Shanghai before and can speak some Mandarin, this will be my first time in South Korea and I speak no Korean whatsoever. In addition, feel free to leave any other travel advice - it would be much appreciated!
I'll be in Seoul during the week of May 11, and leave for Shanghai starting May 18th until the 26th, and I'm definitely down to meet up with any fellow TLers.
Thanks in advance, TL! I really appreciate it!
Best, Bagration
Edit: Thanks for the advice and recommendations - really appreciate it!

Prepare a VPN or a proxy before visiting Shanghai. Complete Internet blackout otherwise. Nice places to hang out are Shanghai Brewery, they have by far the best burgers in town and excellent handcrafted beers. The Lost Heaven restaurants offer very good Yunnan specialties in a great environment.

If you're in Shanghai, I'd recommend staying indoors during the day if you can, and really hit the city during the night. Shanghai's pretty hot during the summer, although that might just be my perspective as a Canadian.

Thanks, do you have any good recommendations on VPN services to use?

Yea, last time I was there it was brutally humid during the day. Do you have any nightlife recommendations?

I was using Astrill back then (I left 7 months ago) and it was working well. Of course, purchase the service before you arrive there because their website is blocked. Just in case, they also have the alternate URL getastrill.com when the primary one is blocked.

Clubs close and new ones open every week. Bar Rouge is expensive but has an amazing terrace with view on the Pudong skyline. M1nt is a good club overall. Constellation bars have excellent cocktails, a very large choice of Scotch and Japanese whiskies and live Japanese music. All are expensive. The Lost Heaven restaurants I mentioned earlier also have a lounge floor with very nice cocktails. Many low to mid end clubs offer all you can drink options for 100 or 150rmb but don't expect top shelf spirits, it's more than often made in China crap.
I like Dada for underground/alternative electro music, and they have good and cheap drinks.
Also it's permitted to smoke inside in China so I hope you're not afraid of suffocating.
