Delving into Heroes of the Storm

KatatoniK United Kingdom978 Posts January 26 2015 20:58 GMT #1 I'm a filthy casual I know First thing first, I'm not a fan of MOBAs, in fact I find them slow and pretty boring most of the time. LoL and DotA especially so I came into HotS as pretty much a complete noob to the genre. Now I'm sure you're asking why I even tried HotS with such a distaste of the genre. It's simple really, it's different and more fast paced than LoL/HoN/DotA. My intrigue started rising when I was watching a few streams and borrowing a special someone's account for a bit (he even unlocked Tassadar for me <3) and from there I was like "hey this is cool and fun. I can't wait until I can play it. Well now I have played it and I want to keep playing it, it's fun, it's not as stressful as SC2 (which still remains my first love, don't worry :D) and it's something I can play with my filthy casual friends who don't play SC2. Tassadar and Thrall hit the battlefield in true BAMF style, many lives were taken in true FABULOUS style that day I'm not sure how many games I've played yet but I'm definitely improving I know that much, I seem to be fitting the ranged assassin role best currently. Though Tassadar is my one true love in this game because my inner Protoss giggles in delight at storm spamming :D My favourite heroes thus far: 1. Tassadar - Tassadar was the first hero I played (excluding Jimmy in the tutorial ofc) and there is nothing more satisfying than making it rain storms on people/buildings/minions/neutral things/the floor in HotS. 2. Falstad - I only started playing Falstad today and I've been enjoying him immensely so far and he's probably my best hero when I don't fatfinger his barrel roll into enemy heroes. His flight skill is super good and useful, especially on maps where controlling/capturing points is super important (I'm looking at you Sky Temple) 3. Sgt Hammer - I too can be Lillekanin and just sit there and let a tank do the work for me. I actually pushed a whole lane with the odd bit of help of a very silent obedient Jimmy Raynor one game. 4. Zagara - I'm not very good with Zagara if I'm brutally honest but I still enjoy playing her, nothing like rolling banelings into everything <3 Heroes I want: 1 - Abathur - It's Abathur, nothing more needs to be said. 2 - Thrall - Thrall is really OP from what I've seen (luckily said Thrall is on my team all the time so I don't mind as much <3) 3 - Murky - Mfnrrgrglrglrlgrllr. [Phantom] Mexico2170 Posts January 27 2015 00:11 GMT #2 I was going to brag too, but figured i might get a warning lol But now about the topic xD Very cool, im glad you are enjoying the game too! All those heroes are very good, and you seem to be inclined to play the sc2 ones. As a tip, try other heroes, from other games, you'd be surprised how much fun they can be. Also don't buy any hero withouth having tried it on try mode and, if you can, played with him in the free rotation sisnce a lot of them can give you a different impression after playing them. If you need any advice, just ask! See you in the nexus!

MrBarryObama Korea (South)141 Posts January 27 2015 04:09 GMT #3 I'm hoping that, like LoL, all the heroes will be unlocked while playing at a PC bang. Then my life will truly stagnate and rest at pc gaming equilibrium.
