There's always weird (artistic) stuff in the indie scenes, but Korea's is also full of cool bands that are easy to listen to and produce lovely MVs but still go by mostly unnoticed, partly due to bad/non-existent marketing and heavy competition. Bellow are some of my favorite bands with some songs so that you have somewhere to start if you're interested. Some of the bands may not be technically indie.. but if you take a look at some of those MVs and listen to the songs, you'll probably agree that the 'indie genre' or whatever is pretty well defined here and is easy to tell from most kpop stuff.
There are tons of other bands on YT, so if you click a few songs you like in succession, YT is clever enough to offer you decent suggestions. There's a metal scene as well though I don't listen to that. pastelmusic, INDIE TO GO, Mirrorball Music and msberrysound are some good channels to subscribe to, I'm sure you'll find plenty more. Also, there's this on Facebook. If you happen to be a listener already or if you find something awesome that's not up there, please share ^^
Cool blog! I've been stumbling into some korean indie stuff lately as a natural progression from my kpop listening I'm more into the rock/punk/metal side of things though. I absolutely love No Brain and Crying Nut which are pretty much the most famous punk/rock bands in Korea so I've been trying to find more stuff like them and checking out smaller bands. There isn't too much metal coming out (or I've just missed it) but there is plenty of bands with mixtures of pop/punk/rock!
I follow Korean Indie which you already linked and http://krockisreal.com/ is also a good source for bands. Mirrorball music also has tons of good stuff as you said!
This came out a while ago and fits more with the songs you posted I suppose, I've been listening it a lot though I don't really know anything about the group otherwise:

That'll make a lovely addition to my playlist, thanks for sharing ^^ 너와 나 (You And I) also sounds nice, I'll have to look up more. I also listen to k-rock and am following that page though I just lost my library recently and started retracing and adding music (which prompted this blog). I may make a similar blog for k-rock later, would of course love to read others', if you ever feel like making one!

Don't feel like that my knowledge is really that good yet to start making a blog post (and I'm lazy..) ^^ I'll definitely check out a k-rock blog of yours if you feel like making one though! Still going trough some of the songs on this post, I really like the OOHYO songs you linked! Otherwise most of the stuff is bit too mellow for me, most ballads and such kinda bore me unless they have something special that catches my attention.
Also krockisreal just tweeted out this and got to say I love it after a couple of listens!
If you haven't watched Plus Nine Boys, it's really like one loong-ass 14 hour indie music video :D Recognise some names from your list from there (Standing Egg, Coffee Boy, maybe 10 cm).
oh this is amazing! ive been listening to a bit of AKMU lately, not sure if you really would call them indie, but happy to see more Korean music thats not on major labels like SM and YG.
Wow, nice, it's great to see that you're into those type of music. Probably also a good way to brush up on the language too, since you're well-versed in the language already. You should check out Eddie Kim and John Park, they're more R&B than indie, but I think it's the type of music that you might like as well, since you like Cheese and Standing Egg.
I'm more toward Korean ballad, like Kim Jong Kook, Lee Seung Chul, and Sweet Sorrow but it's nice to see you appreciate the "finer" side of Korean music, haha. Not that K-pop is bad... >.>

Lmao I know Yozoh but somehow I've been lucky enough to avoid that song until now ^^ Speaking of Bananas, I initially thought you would be sharing this gem ^^

I only discovered AKMU recently through their cover of NOSE EYES LIPS, which I very much enjoyed

Will do, I've been looking for some drama to watch recently ^^ Thanks for the suggestion!

I love R&B, so will do Actually, I never liked ballads, but as I learned more Korean I pretty much stopped listening to mainstream kpop altogether (except some iu) and started to enjoy those ballads for their lyrics. With most of kpop lyrics being really dumb/suggestive I can't seem to enjoy it like I did before, but I sometimes fill this void with some japanese kpop. I study Japanese too but I'm nowhere good enough to understand the songs yet and sometimes I like the catchy tunes .) Also, happy birthday! If your account data is correct :p
