"What have you done today to make you feel proud?"
These were today's objectives:
Similarly to the first program I partook in, every fourth day steps down a notch and acts as a form of rest day, as a result today's exercises weren't particularly challenging.
I set off around late afternoon after there was some more cloud coverage, it was the hottest day of the year so far in the UK and I didn't particularly want to be out in the worst of it.
After heading down to the park I did both the Core and Abs before going for a cool down run. The only exercise that proved any challenge was the 60 second plank. I have to admit I did struggle to hold it for a minute, my arms were shaking come the end.
Tomorrow everything steps up again, looking rather forward to it. I just hope I don't fail my driving theory test again and as a result to depressed to do anything.
The days diet consisted of three meals:
- Breakfast- A bowl of fruit and fiber cereal with a added sliced banana.
- Lunch- Salad with salmon with toast.
- Dinner- Tomato and mozzarella.
- Snacks- Orange, protein bar
So today I used up what was left of the salmon I cooked the day before and made my protein bars. By wasting very little I have been able to keep the cost of the diet very low in comparison to all the fancy diets I have seen of the internet.
I did take lots of photos but for some reason my email isn't receiving messages from my other account (I have checked spam etc). So here is the recipe for the bars. For someone who doesn't like peanut butter than are actually really good and the one I had quenched all my post workout hunger.

Today's Starcraft didn't go very well at all. I wouldn't say that I played badly I just got caught off guard by silly builds and lost games due to map spawns. I did have time to play more games but I was on tilt after the ten games and I didn't see any further benefit on carrying on. Overall I went 4-6.
I played two ZvZ's and went 1-1, the loss was due to missing 20 lings leave my opponents base. The win was a solid roach vs roach game, I am getting more confident in my zvz though I feel my timings are slightly off ill need to look into that tomorrow.
The ZvT's I played were just dumb. I lost the first game due to my scouting overlord getting sniped and then the guy scv/marine all-ined me. I didn't even think that was still a thing? The other game I lost was against a helion/banshee opener, I took to much damage and lost to the follow-up.
I played 6 ZvPs and lost three of them. Two of the losses were due to the maps. My first loss was due to not scouting his gateway expo due to the overlord taking such a long time to get to his natural and lost to a 2 base all in. Another loss was due to the protoss taking a early gold ( ff and cannons op), massing voids, sniping my third and winning due to his superior economy. The last was against a 2 gate that I held, but his follow up crushed me. I went for a ling counter which did nothing because of the existence of the clearly balanced Mothership core. The wins on the other hand were all super solid and I was really happy with those games as a result.
My points of improvement won't change much as so many of the losses were situational and not down to any big game play failures.
Game Summary and Points of Improvement
Vs Protoss (3-3)
- Focus more on map vision and control (overlords +lings).
- Improve viper control.
Vs Terran(0-2)
- Improve overlord spread (map vision).
- Remember to always scout with a overlord at 6-7 minutes to identify two base plays.
Vs Zerg (1-1)
- Make sure I always overseer scout after reaching lair.
- Add lots of static defense to aid with muta/ling defense.
- Add inf when faced against ling/muta.
- Practice going roach/hydra vs ling/muta builds.
- Refine the opener (lair timing etc).
I streamed yet again for about two hours and got literally no viewers at all. I commentated it all and looking back the commentary I did do was informative and clear. I don't know if the lack of viewers is due to bad content or just the fact nobody is noticing me. Either way its kind of depressing to put in two hours of effort and get no recognition for it.
Tomorrow I have my driving theory test in the afternoon as a result I will have to do my exercise quite late in the day, i'm not sure if ill get any Starcraft in but I am not scheduled to stream anyway so if I can't ill just have to make up for it another day. As always thanks for reading and ill see you tomorrow!
FAQ
Q: What is this blog about?
A: This blog is about self improvement in two specific fields, health and gaming. I aim to try and show the community how they can improve themselves in and out of game by maintaining a positive mentally. I hope I will encourage others to take up some form or exercise and improve themselves.
Q: Why are you doing this?
A: It has been proven that your physical well being directly affects how you perform mentally. This of course will affect game-play skill. It is my hope that by improving myself physically I will firstly feel better about myself while also being able to improve my Starcraft/ MTG play. Another goal is to encourage others to do the same and engage in exercise to improve themselves.
Q: What do you do on your live stream?
A: On my stream I play and commentate Starcraft and MTGO , I aim to help weaker players by explaining my decision making and looking over replays. I also aim to improve myself to the point where I can compete on a high level.
Q: Can I get involved?
A: Yes!!! I encourage everyone to start the journey to self improvement today. Find a exercise regime which looks suitable for you and get started! Also be sure to update me on your progress.
