I've been going to team liquid since 2007-2008 era. I went from BroodWar, to Starcraft 2, to Dota2. It was ALWAYS my esports site. Now your separating it apart and its like you are forcing me to close a chapter of my life. The Dota2 scene is spread enough as it is, and this will only make it worse I feel. RIP in pieces team liquid.

Literally, RIP in pieces...

is it that much harder to open two tabs? it's not that different from having r/sc and r/dota2 open o.O

Doesn't change the fact that it's two separate sites. There's no feeling of unity at all across the 'Liquid Network'

Be strong!
I don't mind the change, love the layout and hopefully they really expand the site. My only fear is that they spread apart three sites but can only really maintain one aptly.

Ultimately I think you'll grow to like the change, the options we have for features and site customization that is specific to Dota are far greater and over the next month or so we'll be able to implement a lot of things that just wouldn't be possible on TL. It should make following Dota a lot more comfortable for everyone involved.

TeamLiquid has tons of information overloard for anyone who hasn't been following the forum for years that it made it tough to really do what we wanted to make the site better.

The sites are similar enough that a lot of the features etc can be ported to all, and we have website-specific staff for various parts. Driving features on one should help a lot to get them to the others.

i like the fact that theres a new dota site now, but i'd really like more integration with tl.net and not this entire segregation thing. people just want the option to customize their liquid experience to be cluttered as hell

For the love of god, All we needed was a separate LoL website. liquiddon'tgiveashit.net

Why did you take the games I cared about and made different websites

I loved reading about dota tournaments on the side

If anything, LoL should have been taken out, it's barely ever mentioned on the main site.

I don't like separate sites, TL is my homepage and I enjoy scanning sidebar for new stuff while I browse forums. Now I have to keep track of two pages at once on one screen.

Also I dislike how posts seem to take more vertical space which is precious enough on a laptop screen as it is. Maybe move back quote/report back to the "main" bar beside the post number?

I like the presentation of the new site, it makes room for a lot more relevant D2 information. Of course there are probably many improvements to reintegration that can and will be made by TL staff to keep the new site more connected to TL. At least they've made it easier to toggle between sites.

It was nice to have dota related stuff as well as SC2 FPL in one place... so now I'll have to have two tabs.
I do like it.

I don't feel it's as bad as people are making it out to be. And I'll be fairly honest...I just got in and this page looks soooo much better than regular TL (nostalgia aside).

If anything though, they should have the links between the sites at the top more evident, so they feel more...connected.

P.S. Dota avatars are also a nice change

I really like the new event tracker. I might miss the multi-gaming, now that sc2 evolved and became interesting again, but i think this change adds enough potential to be worth it.

If this really does end up being so terrible and awful that it rips the community apart, they can always roll it back. It's just a website!

In the meantime, you can't control whether its like this not. Venting is healthy and normal, so hopefully after this brief exhortation you can try to make the best of things - because now you have TWO sites to browse!

As long as community forums/tech support/blogs are shared across all TL sites then it's perfectly fine.

I suppose I'll get used to things in time, but I realize I won't be visiting TL enough to keep it on my bookmarks so I removed it and will just have liquiddota. It would be nice if we had the option to change the color theme of the various Liquid sites to the other, and like endy said more shared forums across the sites.

Yeah, I think this is probably a beneficial change in the long run to really build a liquid Dota community site that can stand on its own, and bring in the Dota crowd. The layout and update to graphics are also beautiful.

At the same time I feel your pain. I liked coming to my everything esports site, and sometimes if I forget to click the Dota or Hearthstone tabs for a while I feel disconnected. That being said for all the true fans of each genre the sites won't be neglected. The casuals might miss out and i feel like they will just gravitate towards the one particular sub site, than maybe no longer branching out like they would have previously.

Either way, the future is now, time to adapt.

Again, just have the general/tech/blogs etc forums shared between subsites and TL will feel connected again

In the meantime, this has pretty priceless features to make up for that

I was really starting to like smash stuff too.... I liked the idea of just disabling sc2/league and having brood war/dota2/smash show!
