Article about MLG's new streaming service
What the fuck is that? I'm not talking about MLG supposedly betraying the SC2 community then trying to gain their attention again. MLG is a business and made a business decision based on circumstances which I'm pretty sure that 99% of the SC2 community has no fucking clue about, yet gets criticized harshly for it not just then but is now receiving backlash from people who have no clue that MLG is TRYING TO HELP OUR COMMUNITY.
They gave us one chance, and we dropped the ball hard because a lot of you pinpricks feel self entitled. Sundance has seen this and decided that if you're going to be little twats about paying for streams and shit, then we have to find another way to make this survive, and we need to make sure people aren't being taken advantage of.
I mean, seriously, someone else posted a blog today talking about the NA ladder in general and how shitty the mindset is. It's the entire NA community quite honestly. I'm from the US and I watched these forums, and while I don't have scientific data to back this up, I get the feeling that the NA ladder is simply an indicator of a bigger whole.
Maybe this whole thing has to do with the mindset of your country's culture right now, but even knowing that, a majority of you need to take a step back and realize how stupid you're being by claiming MLG betrayed SC2 to start with (which they didn't, and any complete proof of that requires the knowledge of circumstance, time, and place from being in working positions at MLG, which I'm pretty again, no one in the SC2 community has...), and now you're just being complete dick holes by saying that you're angry at them and not even thanking them for making sure there isn't a power grab by corporations already running sports which will force us to adopt their systems.
TL;DR - If you think the thread linked at the beginning is MLG being douche bags because they already betrayed the SC2 community, you're the problem with this community, and while I appreciate the fact you represent a view that is opposite to the one I belief is correct, go fuck yourself, or go change yourself.

Whats with all the anger?^^
Sundance made a terrible tweet once, that was a punch in the face to every sc2 fan. Most people aren`t aware all the time that a company is more than just one man. Sundance should not do any PR ever again for mlg. Other than that it is great that twitch gets some competition.
Peace out.

You have extremely malformed and misguided ideas of the obligations that other people have towards the reception of a product, and have assigned some idea of collective responsibility as a result. Tragic irony is that the name calling and poor logic in your own post is indicative of the very stuff you hate.
Good luck in the future.

OP you have no idea what you're talking about it seems like. Listen to itsjustatank, and use a google search or two before you indict everyone for having an opinion other than your own then proceed to flame them for it.

Stop eating the pretzels; it's obvious that you're way too thirsty.

I don't know what you're talking about

I'm angry, and I'm American, and I want my freedoms! Where's my gun? I want to shoot some stuff in protest for violating my freedoms!

this sounds like a self.reddit post.

By making this post the OP has become a part of his/her own hypocrisy.

Lol, I feel like your post is more for attention because you are lonely on Christmas. So I will give you attention. First, SC 2 was probably the #1 reason MLG got a huge boost to what it is now. SC 2 was filling seats at live Lan events. MLG probably felt with WCS they were unable to schedule what MLG wanted to do with SC 2, and it was easier to drop it. WCS doesn't allow competition, MLG can't air content related to SC 2 when WCS is airing. I think the community should be upset at MLG because they gave up on SC 2. If you think about it, MLG lans were one of the few tournaments no name players could crash through and an open bracket and make a name for themselves. Now those up and comers don't have that chance to do that at an lan. Yes WCS has online qualifiers, but a live lan where someone wins like 30 best of threes in a row to get to the finals is an epic story. Anyway I hate the internet now.

I'm in a similar boat to the OP; I don't believe MLG has any obligation whatsoever to stick around SC2, particularly if they got practically shoved out of it by WCS. Given your suggestion to do a google search, is there something more provocative here than MLG coming back to SC2? The reason I'm not googling this, by the way, is because the first searches that come to mind aren't going to bear any fruit ("MLG SC2 streaming" and similar groupings of terms).

Open bracket got more and more infested by Koreans as time went on. No-names went to the open bracket to have their hopes and dreams crushed by up-and-coming Koreans who could have smashed their way through any tournament to make their break out at that point in their career.
edit: Evidently I had a reading comprehension fail. I thought the OP believed that MLG was under no obligation to help SC2 because it was a business when in actuality he was saying that MLG is a blessing to the community and we are biting the hand that feeds.

People think differently: I'll insult them. That'll do it. Hypocrite.
Market's going to be the market, no point in blaming the fans. The game's inability to generate a sufficient fanbase is the problem. You can preach all you want, people in the starcraft community have this strange idea that the fans need to manufacture good will and build the SC2 platform because the organizations, Blizzard and the others, are unable to. I don't care enough to do it, you don't care enough to put in the work, all you did is you wrote a shit blog. And that's what everyone does: nothing.
I think it has to be one of the first time in the world a whole bunch of dumb plebs have gotten themselves convinced that they're the reason why a large international conglomerate is failing to expand. For those kids, it has nothing to do with its failed marketing, its failed game and Blizzard's complete and utter inability to become a 21st century company, it has nothing to do with the tournament runners (oftentimes) half-assing SC2 tournaments because other games run by competent companies like Riot run a proper business model and listen to their fans and open doors to business opportunities. [PS: I hate LoL]. But all of those are real problems that we ignore because it's somehow bad to mention Blizzard's failures...
If a product fails, it's not because of the buyers. It's because of the people who want to sell this product. We're not being twats because SC2 players happen to be assholes. We have a community that reflects the product we use. People refuse to recognize that because of this internet culture thing: If we bandwagon something really hard maybe it'll become good.
As for your thread title, "ungrateful scum" because I'm not grateful for a game that I've paid for and watched while being pestered by ads? Fuck you, everyone along the way is making money, nobody's being generous to me. So no I'm not grateful, just like I'm not grateful for Heinz when I buy god damn ketchup. I like ketchup, they like money, transaction closed.
The only reason why today we have poor saps blaming other poor saps for the bad performance of big corporations if because somehow, a few enthusiasts decided that a bottom up approach is how we'd get the community to grow. It failed horribly, and it's up to the big corporations to get the show on the road. Our crazy people gave SC2 a bunch of free promotion that Blizzard failed to do by itself, now it should pick up the slack and find a way to make the game relevant again.

Sure the open bracket at MLG was getting Korean heavy. But WCS is also Korean heavy. At the end of the day Koreans are going to be in the way. But I think of Naniwa's great run back when he was on Dignitas through the open bracket.

Damn, dude, don't reference my blog if you're gonna go off the rails hahaha.
The only thing I agree with here is that people should be happy to have MLG back for SC2 instead of being all bitter about being dropped prior. The same thing happened when Destiny came back a couple months ago. Lots of, "go back to lol" type shit that just isn't needed.
Just look at how happy the Melee community is that MLG is bringing it back for 2014! http://smashboards.com/threads/mlg-2014-feedback-discussion.343288/ (BTW IM SO EFFING PUMPED FOR THAT HOLY SHIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIT HYPE!!!!!!!!!!!!!)
