edit: sadface, this is #11 :c
This is a somewhat weekly electronic music blog. If you have time, take some time to listen.
Been almost 2 months since my last post. Plenty of great music found, just not enough energy to get a post going. Finally a designated free day today so going to post these.
This week/month/fortmonth's featured track is Please Stop Loving Me by Sky-Fi, with a sick jazzy melody. The featured content is "How Designers Destroyed the World" by Mike Monteiro, a great presentation on more personal responsibility.
Birdy - Words As Weapons (Nico Pusch Bootleg Remix)
Great mix to start the day. Excellently blissful.
Mako - Our Story
I love vocals, and this is no exception. Uplifting, feel good edm.
Crazy Girl - Kim Bo Hyung of SPICA
Not edm, but still with that smooth classy dance vibe.
Music Defines Gravity - Break The Monotony
The heavy chorus actually fits the song excellently.
Cheb'Five - 2055
Electro! Some light, fun, different feeling edm before I hit you with a monster.
Mitchell Claxton - Wuxia
And here's the monstrous trance track you really can't miss. Trance gold essentially, from Monstercat no less.
Andrew Bayer - Perth
Electric uplifting trance from one of the best in the business.
Seven Lions - She Was (feat. Birds Of Paradise)
The intro is heavenly melodic, and the midsection a bit heavy, but the sound is absolutely unique.
Rudebrat - Always Wonder (Skrux Remix)
Really catchy and entertaining mix with an extra step in the bassline.
Hermes - Somewhere in the Deep
This song deserves more than some random second to last mention here, because it is absolutely serene.
Sky-Fi feat. Gloria Black - Please Stop Loving Me
The mood on this song, especially during the chorus is absolutely wonderful.
How Designers Destroyed the World
http://www.webstock.org.nz/talks/how-designers-destroyed-the-world/
This is a great, a bit vulgar and long-winded talk about designing technology and the responsibility we have as human beings to ensure that the things we build don't negatively affect society. It talks about our roles as gatekeepers when we encounter bad designs, bad programs, bad code, and our moral obligation as humans to consciously make the moral and humane choice, even in spite of your own personal insecurities or fallacies.
It's worth a listen to, even if the presentation is not your cup of tea.
Anyways, see you next week. ish.
