Ever since I was a kid I've had dreams where I would find a secret room in my house and it would turn out to be gigantic and awesome (usually they would be secret libraries with books reaching up to the high ceilings with marble and wood and grand staircases and chandeliers and humungous windows). But just last night I "discovered" a room in my parent's house (we've lived here for over 10 years) that I have literally stepped foot in a maximum number of about 3 times. We've also never changed anything in the heater room, so the carpet, the wallpaper, even the curtains are exactly identical as it was 12 years ago. So in a sense even though I knew it was always there I never actually got acquainted with the room itself. I'm talking about the heater room next to the garage, it's just there but nobody actually goes there to have a look around. I don't know just thought it was a cool little room that I probably could have used more in the 12 years we've lived here. That and the attic which none of my family have ever stepped foot in (rumor has it the people who lived here before us still have their stuff up there). Oh, and my parents keep telling me there might be rats or bats up there. I just know before we move out I want to go up there and have a good look around
I Am The Richest Man In The World
Every once in a while I have this dream or fantasy that I'm the richest man in the world and have a collection of exotic wild animals. Sometimes I'm also Santa Claus at the same time (because I imagine Santa would be pretty rich). So here I am in the North Pole and I also am the CEO of a large modeling company so I'm constantly in contact with lots of pretty women. But I'm also dating a supermodel and we live in a huge mansion at the North Pole where the elves make toys for all the children. Everyone knows that the only realistic way for Santa to fly around the world in 24 hours in through super advanced technology which he possesses. So Santa is also a super smart scientist and astrophysicist. I also like to imagine Santa has a time machine that can also teleport. So he can take his girlfriend on a date to the time of the dinosaurs and at the edge of space so they can watch as the asteroid approaches Earth. Or he can go into the future and stand on top of Mount Everest, or even visit a far away galaxy millions of light years from Earth, possibly seconds after the Big Bang. The possibilities are endless. Also I like to think that on Christmas Day, Santa steps out with his date and kisses her on a huge balcony as thousands of elves and fairies cheer down below in front of the North Pole mansion, with fireworks and celebrations all over the place. Rudolph the red nosed reindeer would be the main guest of the lavish parties I throw
(Some people also say that Hitler in fact did not commit suicide and escaped through a portal that led to the inside of the Earth. Another interesting factoid is that the Nazis had access to super secret advanced technology which they themselves destroyed to prevent the risk it would fall into the hands of the Allies. Some corroborating evidence of this is that the Germans during WW2 had chemical weapons which were far advanced for their time, but Hitler refused to use them for fear of retaliation)
My Fascination With Words
For some reason lately I've been thinking about words that have a lot of repeating sounds, I think they're examples of alliteration as they call it. Here are a few:
ostentatious
obsequious
chicanery
cataclysmic
equanimity
ubiquitous
onomatopoeia
My Paranormal Interests
Recently I picked up a really good book from the library entitled "Chambers Dictionary of the Unexplained". And it is literally just as exciting as the title makes it seem. Basically the book is arranged in alphabetical order like a dictionary and covers a broad variety of topics that defy or cannot be explained by contemporary scientific knowledge. The author's main argument is that just like how people in the old days were mystified by earthquakes and attributed them to spirits or religion, today we understand earthquakes and other natural phenomena as having a scientific basis. So in that same sense there are millions of things around us that we cannot explain yet but we must explore and investigate further. To that list he includes things like ghosts, parallel dimensions, telepathy, teleportation, levitation, spontaneous combustion (magically lighting things on fire), extraterrestrials, elves, fairies, black magic, hallucinations, secret societies, and cryptozoology (the study of animals we have not discovered yet but that can possibly exist, such as the Yeti or Loch Ness monster). It almost makes me wish black magic and the dark arts were actual classes you could take in school, like in Harry Potter. Anyway it's a great book on really interesting subject matter
