Thankfully, I met an amazing girl and we have been dating almost a year (it will be one year on October 11th, and we'll be going to IEM together a couple days when I visit her in NYC), and even though it's long-distance and tough we've managed to do really well together. She's Korean, so the Korean parents were an obstacle in a way but in some magical way her mom loves me (apparently the first white guy friend of her daughter's that she's ever liked) and my marginal Korean skills are enough to converse. The rest of her family likes me as well so it's been a good situation in that respect and both of our families approve of our relationship.
Back to music, I'm a little unsure about how I will be making a living. The standard, stable job for most composers is to get a Ph.D or DMA and proceed to teach collegiately; however, I know that there is no way on God's green earth that I will be teaching and interacting with people like that for the rest of my life to exclusivity. So I'm in a bit of a quandary at the moment, I've been considering attempting a pro gaming career (I've always held top 2-5% ladder positions in any and every game I play seriously), I'm currently working a medical clerical job involving data entry and chart abstraction which is a huge learning opportunity, and I have extra credit hours to play with next year because of how light my required load will be which lets me do extra classes and discover possible other interests that I could pursue.
This isn't exactly a focused blog post, but I hope someone here reads this and can appreciate a young person trying to find a path that makes sense without ending in financial ruin and leads to a productive life, which would ultimately be my goal.
In other news, I'm so hyped for all of the stuff Riot is doing for League of Legends, I'm active in watching GSL/WCS vods (mostly GSL though), I will pester Blizzard incessantly for a hearthstone key until I get one (valid strategy I know). Gaming has always been a part of me and it will always continue to be a part of me, I just hope I can find a game that really attracts me in the next couple months as solo q in LoL is draining my soul a little each game.
I also recently hit 1000 posts on the website thanks to League of Legends finals (as people in those threads know). Got my sick city new portrait and realized hwo people can accrue 5 digit post counts (LRS EVERYWHEREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE). I'll write another one of these when I feel the urge, I just wanted to talk a bit for the sake of talkin (well typing but w/e).
