The first frost finally hit the area meaning a lot of new mushrooms are coming up! It's been a consistent 80 degrees in the day and is now dropping to the 40's at night. That on top of the light sprinkling that's been thrown in the mix and well, lets just say a certain family of mushroom loves those particular conditions .
These are P. Cinctulus. A moderately active mushroom. Going to be having some fun methinks...
Spore prints are everything! If they turned out brown it would have been the species P. Forenesecii which thankfully isn't poisonous but it doesn't have the same sought after effects. Still, even though going through every one of these prints to double check is a pain, it's a habit worth doing.
We're still in the transition period between the summer mushies and the fall mushies and while it's a bummer to not be getting a plethora of field mushrooms every day there are many more exciting species that are about to start fruiting =D!
I'll keep you guys posted, -Munch
edit: Almost forgot to mention! Made a couple day trip over to the river and landed around 150-200 pink salmon along with 2 kings and a handful of silvers! Going to have food for days =P.
I dare to be the only one to ask this but since i may not be understanding exactly what youre doing with those are those for what i think they are for? Im probably just being stupid, but still, i had to ask! ;D

While I don't know randomuch personally, from what i can tell those aren't for cooking.
I'm back guys from a very interesting day. Jcroisdale... lol, you are very right good sir.
If anyone is interested in reading my experience unspoiler the tag. It is a NSFW topic and is about magic mushrooms and even though there's really no violence/sex/wtvr in it, you have been warned!
So I started off my morning yesterday by blending up a smoothie. In this smoothie was a solid handful of these pann. cints. I'm probably going to guess in the range of 2-3 grams. I never try and overshoot my first time just to double check what I've picked is actually what it is. My roommate woke up from me using the blender and decided he was going to join in on this journey. So I got roughly the same amount for him and made him his own smoothie. We followed this up by sipping on some delicious mushrooms and watched some breaking bad. By the end of the first episode (~45 min exactly) the trip was beginning and the day had started.
Noises began to be exaggerated. Every single time someone spoke it echoed about 5 more times in my ear. My vision began to blur and things began to hum. Both of us had to sit for another 10-15 minutes just to absorb this transition that was happening. What came next was this overwhelming sense of euphoria. I mean I was fucking smiling from ear to ear lol and I couldn't do one damn thing about it. Pretty soon things began to calm down as the trip was solidifying and the transition into my altered world was becoming more whole. No longer were things humming but instead were still. My vision no longer was blurred but instead saw with amazing clarity. My entire world was breathing suddenly.
We both got on our boards and began to skate towards town. It was in the 80's yesterday and the warmth felt like having the softest blanket wrapped around me. As we really got going, by blood got going as well. That causes your trip to push towards peaking faster and by the time we hit the hills we were after, my sense of self was about 2-3 feet above my body. I could look down and see myself skating and see my buddy right next to me but it was as if a bird was watching us. As we were skating we rounded a corner and surprised a crowd of 200-300 people who were doing some event. Let me tell you folks, peoples faces are not the sort of thing you want to see while tripping, let alone so many.
Right as we saw this my roommate cut in front of me, put his hand on my chest and in a way pushed me in order to make me turn right instead of the path I was heading on, which was straight. I have never felt so pro on a board as I did then, having my body dettached somehow made it so every movement I tried to do I felt like I was able to do with extreme precision. Our boards eventually locked together and swung a sharp right turn without either of us falling or even flinching or nothing. It was so perfect lol.
We continued to board without any sense of direction until we hit this grass field. In this field you could look out and I'd say a mile or two away was these three very large oak trees. As I looked out at these trees their branches were glowing with this faint aura and the tree itself felt like it was breathing. Swirls formed in the trees and branches began to bend around and form different signs. I couldn't make any of them out, at the time i was percieving this as tree sign language and these trees were trying to talk to me but I couldn't understand them. The frustration and want to be able to understand these trees was such an immense power within me, almost as describing motivation but without the need to act.
We headed for home after this. It had been ~3-4 hours after starting our trip and you could feel the effects slowing down. The walk home I couldn't feel my legs, they were machines.
That was the last real effect I could notice. After my legs came back to me I was fairly sobered.
The beautiful thing I found out is that these particular mushrooms don't actually have as much psilocybe as other active mushrooms. In fact the strength is something around 1/2. However, these are also filled with a retarded amount of seratonin hence the euphoria throughout the entire trip. Overall, a very good find.
Of course I smoke when I trip. Having chronic gastrointestinal issues it's almost a must for me when I eat just about anything. A: it reduces nausea (medical part) B: it calms your senses down (medical part) C: it relaxes the transition (medical part) D: it pushes your trip. (fucking awesome part)
Need I say more
Edit: on a completely different note. I've eaten salmon the past 4 days in a row and I am loving it. Highly recommend everyone to eat salmon. Stuff is the bomb. Grilled salmon, salmon burgers, deep fried salmon, pan fried salmon.
