WCS Redesign

So yeah, WCS redesign ideas just because I want to write it down. Just a quick suggestion list basically, not a complete breakdown of everything...

Format:

Same format as till now.

Challenger League qualifiers upto organizers.
Challenger League/Up 'n Downs unified in the way KR is right now.
Premier League same as now - 2 group stages into single elim bracket.

All Premier League games are required to be at least Bo3. Other then that, upto the organizers whether it is dual tournament or round robin.
Also, all Premier League games in all regions are required to be played offline.

WCS players are required to either live in the region of their choosing at least 2 months out of 3 for a season in total (=residency requirement) or to be a citizen of said region (=citizenship requirement).

Season finals stay exactly the same as they are now.

Map Poll:

Unified map pool across all three regions and ladder.
7 maps in a map pool for a season.
3 maps from KR organizers, 2 maps from EU and 2 maps from NA (doesn't matter if they suggest ladder maps, community maps or their own maps).
At most 4 maps can stay the same season to season.

Prize Pool

Now here it gets interesting..

KR stays exactly as it is.

EU and NA do NOT have any money prize pool. Instead of prize pool, every player receives a salary from Blizzard on top of their usual salary from teams.
Every player starting in Premier League Ro32 receives 3k USD (or EU equivalent) every month for three months starting with a month in which Premier League Ro32 Day 1 is played.
Every player starting in Challenger League Round 1 receives 1k USD (or EU equivalent) every month for three months starting with a month in which Challenger League Round 1 is played.

Season Finals reward money as they do now. They only award as much WCS points as standard WCS Tier 1 tournament (maybe a little more).

World Finals stay as well.

Summary

Now this is just an idea, that I think could work very well. There is a residency requirement OR citizenship requirement.
No prizepool means most of the players will get more then usual, but the very top players will get less. On the other hand, the top players are playing for the guaranteed money in Season Finals and possibly even World Finals.
The less WCS points rewarded in Season Finals mean you don't really need to be in every one of them in order to qualify for World Finals (but if you are, you WILL probably get there).
This still doesn't address several more issues that need to be addressed, for example Korea being much better region and not being rewarded properly, the need to create 4th region for SEA players etc etc.
As I said, just an idea, a suggestion.

If somebody read it, hope you like it and if you have any questions, just ask.

...Why? I'm sure players wouldn't mind getting paid extra money for playing, but the Koreans are the hardest working group of pro-gamers out there and they aren't getting salaried by Blizzard? Why these changes?

I think if players are going to be salaried it should be for all regions.

Honestly? Because Riot does it and in this case, Riot does it right.

I think I have not written it clearly enough though, I think Blizzard should still give same prize pool for Koreans PLUS allow GOM/OGN/eSF/Kespa/sponsors/whoever to add any money they want on top of it.

Also, to be honest, I don't think there will be too much eSF teams left in 2014. Kespa will just buy out all the players with Premier League talent come October. And Kespa will pay those gamers good enough money that they won't actually need Blizzard. As opposed to most of the foreign players, besides those on teams like Liquid or EG.

So, the WINNER of KR gets $20,000 while ALL players in Ro32 in NA/EU get $9,000?

WHAT?????

Risk to be a progamer is higher in Korea. Reward of being a progamer is smaller as they are usually not paid well / at all. Somehow people still think the risk is greater in EU/NA and players should / deserve money for playing. No they don't. Unreasonable changes and especially your changes will lead to even more Koreans coming over to secure a free 9000$

i don't think this idea has a prayer of working.
however, at least you are being constructive as opposed to the whining, moaning, and complaining that permeates SC2 eSports discussions on this site.

Liquid isn't the second richest team out there.
