NOTE: I really hope all of you get the title reference. Also, starting next week the show will be split into two. One StarCraft, and one general gaming!

This is my fourth episode of my new show, Tara Talks!

This week we talk about:
- THQ is no more and the original Nintendo DS is becoming defunct. I'm really hoping that SEGA does good things with Warhammer and that Darksiders is still produced! I need to know more about the remaining horsemen... especially the female one!

- My topic this week is on the ease of newer games and why I think that older games were much more difficult. I'd love to hear thoughts on this!

- I talk about how you can expand greedily as a Zerg player while still defending early aggression. This is split into each race opponent option, and also teaches a few tricks.

Here is the full episode, let me know how I am doing:

Also, here is a game that I played in order to get footage for the show. I kind of cast it and show how I proxy 2 rax. I wasn't supposed to win.

Let me know what you guys think. I know the audience is more for new SC2 players, but getting support from the existing community is lovely. That, and you might actually not know a few of these little tidbits. ^^

ABOUT TARA TALKS
I'm now collaborating with Zoomin.TV Games (a YouTube channel with over 300,000 subs) too bring little StarCraft II tips and gaming news to a mainstream gaming audience. I am on a mission to help new players get into competitive SC2 gaming!
I give the news, let people know what I think, then I relay a small StarCraft tip that I wrote with the help of high-level friends, and gameplay I recorded (for the most part). I hope you guys enjoy the content!

haha love the bunker rush video.
it's important to type to get a wall off in your main if he ever has speedlings though, a simple counter attack is game ending sometimes

Great videos. I do agree I think games are getting easier, or us "hardcore gamers" are just too pro now lol. I personally don't mind if a game is not that hard as long as the story is great, and the gameplay is interesting. But you are right, games are super pretty, but kinda easy even on the hard mode.

In general, most people aren't willing to play a game until they are actually good at it (I don't mean sc standards of good, I mean like bronze level good). Most people like a quick round of fun that brings instant gratification, because of this games are getting easier. Personally I think easy to play hard to be good is the right game model for the times, and the dominant games right now (Sc2, LoL, DotA) exemplify that. Though I don't think we are just too pro... not just yet .

Please just stop, you're nothing but cancerous. using female form to fund your lazy life. The fact that you get any attention at all worries me about modern male's self control. Sure, you're attractive but that's all you have. Enjoy it while you can.

I could not agree more.

Easy to play and hard to be good at would be the best! That way casual gamers can play through the story and enjoy it still, while hardcore gamers can really get into it and boast about how they actually play the game competitively.

I think LoL has this down pretty well and SC2 is getting there. It's just hard to feel comfortable playing the game when all you see of it is competitive play on the ladder that is a bit intimidating.

I think it's sad how most people expect to pick up a game like StarCraft and be insta-good at it, especially since there are plenty things in place to help you ease into ladder. Then they just get frustrated and quit. IMO the campaign and arcade are enough to buy the game, even if you never touch the ladder.

I'm super happy that a lot of people comment on the stuff I have been doing lately saying they bought StarCraft or they are going to start playing again. YAY!

Yeah, definitely a good point. I started building it way too late, but this was more of a thing I did for footage for the Tara Talks than actual play. I just started wining it at the end, especially with the third barracks at his natural, haha.

Yeah, it must be hard though to make a game that looks as good as Assassin's Creed and have the controls be harder and more open without taking away from the integrity of the graphics.

That's why I like StarCraft. I think the graphics are awesome, badass and cute all at the same time, while the gameplay and physics and everything are awesome. It would be a totally different ball game if we was the models up close and we weren't looking from bird view, though.

Oh of course. I think games today are more about immersing the player into an experience, and telling a story. I don't really think you could do that, so they made games challenging. SC II is challenging because you are playing against a person who is reacting against you, and wants you to fail as much as possible lol. And well....man is the most dangerous game.

I think games nowadays are easier that they were 10 years ago or more, simple as that.
What is interesting is the reason behind this: the growth of the industry attracted new clients, the softcore or casual gamers. These new gamers have so much more offer in the market (and the cost of 'gaming' is nowadays lower, proportionally), that they can swap from one game to another very easily. This low switching cost, again proportionally, makes these players unable to hold the frustration of a hard game like old gamers did. If they find a game that is not enough 'straight forward' (note I don't say easy) they just move to another. This is why today's top games tend to be repetitive and rather simple in terms of the mechanic.
TL;DR : industry growth, new clients, new clients are different to old school gamers (more money, lower costs, they like wide videogame knowledge more than deep knowledge) and these new clients are just the majority, the one that makes money for the gaming companies.

Sorry for my bad english.
