Hey Tlers, just got into the HoTs and it looks like the zerg are the underdog at the moment and I was interested in playing as them. When I see people's hotkeys I see that all the hatcherys are on one control group but they can tab between them, what do they press to do that? also anyone have any good suggestions or what you use for your hotkeys? thanks alot

Hey there!
To my understanding, you can't tab through them, much the same way that as Terran you can't tab through a selection of Barracks. However, you shouldn't need to, since when you "Select Larva" it brings up all the larva of the hatcheries combined. The only real weakness to this is now you can't setup specific rally points, but that isn't as big of a problem.
As for hotkeys, I use 1 - 3 for my army and 4 for my Hatcheries, and 5 - 0 for my queens.

ohhhhh ok thanks so much! short blog

Are you referring to quickly switching your camera between hatcheries? I haven't done it, but you might be talking about the base camera inject method. Backspace is the default key to center on one of your bases, and hitting it again moves to the next base. So if you have a bunch of queens selected and each one is standing next to a hatchery, shift+V and while holding shift, spam backspace left-click backspace left-click backspace left-click until all your injections are done. You're probably going to want to rebind backspace to something else though, since you need to hold shift and press it with one hand.

Correct you can't tab to cycle between hatcheries, however if you have a lair/ hive in the same control group you can in the same way that a terran can cycle between barracks and factory by pressing tab on the keyboard.
Having said that as Imbu said there isn't any need to as when selecting larva it selects them from all the hatch's/ lair's/ hives in the control group. Also upgrades can be researched on any as long as the requirement is met (you can research drops on a hatch as long as you have a lair).

Actually you can tab through them with your camera at least.. I've re-binded a couple of things but yeah..
I personally don't use the queen binding method, I hate it.
² = base camera key (which is the key i'm talking 'bout) 1-2 = units 3 = all hatches + macro hatches 4-0 = all base hatches separately (so no macro hatches included) ° = army bind (something new in hotS or at least I didn't notice this in woL back when I played it in early 2011 before moving back to bw, basically selects every single unit you have in the game in your army, so basically every single unit except for your drones) F1-F8 = camera locations
If I get more than 6 bases I put 2 hatches per key along the 4-0 keys.(excluding macro hatches again)
I've used every single race in bw back in the days and for each race I could simply just use a whole different way of hotkeying my stuff, same for sc2. Each to their own really, as long as it works it's good.

Switching races is always fun. But I totally disagree with the statement that zerg is the underdog. Terran is the dominant race in HotS as of today, Protoss and Zerg dispute the title of underdog, and I'd say that Protoss is the underdog at the moment. Don't forget that Life won MLG Dallas
This is how I organize my hotkeys as Zerg. Adopt this setup with you find it fitting: 1, 2, 3: Army control groups. Usually, the most active army subgroup is on 3 (eg. Mutas). 4: All hatcheries. 5, 6, 7, 8: Respective queens. I hate having all queens on one hotkey since I prefer double-tapping to get to a specific queen/hatchery. 9, 0: Overseers and/or Nydus worms. This is actually very important because you should always be able to immediately jump to your Overseer to check your opponent's base. Also, when going for Nydus worm aggression, you should always be able to instantly place a worm at a location without needing to go all the way back to your main/nat, clicking "n", then dragging yourself back to where you want to put the worm.
I don't need to use F keys for locations since my queens are all at respective hatcheries, and inherently at respective bases.

I did this method but I was having trouble with my rally points to the minerals and changing them around, just I guess I would be indecisive in the middle of a game of where to send the next couple of drones and having to change them around. perhaps that just needs practice. And I leave my 5,6,7,8,9 queens at my newly expanded hatchers, and tab to them if I need to go to a certain one, but the issue I have with that is, what if my queen isn't at the base? its out doing creep tumors or something, I guess I just have to click over then? thanks for the really good advice everyone.
And as for my "the zerg is the underdog statement", I do not have the experience/knowledge to back that statement up, so I don't mean for this to be taken seriously and make this blog about race balance.
