To Cheese or not to cheese, that is my question.
Hello fellow starcraft 2 players from all leagues and ladders. Thank you for taking the time to check out a new blog in your endless search for ( a hopefully) up-and-comer(s). If your into detailed and clever writing, moments of great triumph and crushing defeats, you have found a little slice of literary heaven. Just kidding, my wordcraft is to starcraft as marines are to warcraft. Let me introduce myself, and give you a little insight behind the cold hard walls of text (and occasional replay and re-recorded continued replay).
My name is Adam Ascott, I am 25 years old, live in Canada, and I have decided to dedicate my spare time (due to a great love of starcraft) to attempting to gather a fan base and smash into the pro scene, For those of you who enjoy watching replays, here are a couple of pre-HoTS replays (http://drop.sc/309965), (http://drop.sc/309964) the first one is a TvP, where I open with a nuke rush and transition into marauder raven with a few tanks for defence while trying to get up an expansion (I focused heavily on micro so expect to see my macro fail miserably for a little bit) one thing I would/should have done differently was to NOT STOP MAKING GHOSTS... this game could have been finished a lot faster (and with fewer units) with a few more ghosts. My engagements would have been a lot more cost effective (especially since I didnt use medivacs) and I should have been trying to micro back only the wounded marauders (while not kiting) to allow the marauders with more health to tank a shot or two to spread out the damage. All in all however it was a fun, action packed, edge of your seat game, if anyone would like to share/cast/comment please DO! cast it, put it on your channel, review it with your friends! Just drop a line to my twitter (@LtAscott) and tell them I'd like a follower. My rather lackluster use of the factory in this game could have easily been converted to a HoTS-style build by getting a reactor instead and widom mines instead of tanks.
The second game is an action packed, macro-oriented PvZ, in which nearly every WoL tech path is utilized by both myself and the other player for each of our races respectively. Inevitably, with no infestors on the field, I was able to overcome the onslaught and remaxes by this excellent (for his league) player, a game to this scale of sheer enjoyment is a rarity for me, especially on ladder. Games like this are the reason we find this game so fun. Please give these games a watch and me a chance. (Again) Follow me on twitter @LtAscott, also I am on twitch and will do some replays on my stream if i get over 50 followers! (I dont have a great computer right now, my gaming rig died and I am using a gifted computer so I am unable to really live stream with quality). If anyone enjoys these games or becomes a fan with a better computer who would be willing to cast, stream and make videos of my games and perhaps requested Build vs Build or other fun theorycraft matches, send me a private message! I would love to share/help to succeed and personally succeed in becoming a benevolent (and POPULAR! ) "internet personality", drop me a line, i have a few more old WoL replays that are awesome and plan on saving many more! And now here comes the Come practice and chat with me in channel LtAscott on the NA server, crush me, make me rage! A man can win a thousand battles without ever learning a single thing, but that same man can lose a single battle and learn a thousand things. Check back next week for a few more replays (from HOTS!) BTW every game I lose I now replay in the replay until I win so there! even if u win u dont win NeRd RaGe (alternating Upper-and-lower case letters makes me rage )
Thank you and see you SOON!

Don't cheese if you want to be good, you should be grinding out macro games and watching all your replays. Watch a couple of games from your favorite pro players stream so you don't forget what you want your gameplay to look like and go back to grinding macro games and watching your replays.
Soon you should reach a solid 200+ APM (not gold player 200 apm, but the kind that's relatively mechanically sound) and be able to be masters with any race in either expansion of sc2 within a week. Then you can really worry and start writing blogs. If you want to play team games, you can even do that, as long as your pushing yourself to your limits mechanically.
You don't need to overthink your strategy... if you're scouting and reacting okay up until 8 mins you should win every game until masters easy with passable mechanics. Focus on your early game, because it sets up your lategame and I doubt it's very efficient.
Goodluck and hf

The purpose of this blog is just to drum up hype and introduce myself, I am not saying that I am an extraordinary sc2 player yet, but I feel like I have a unique way of analyzing the games I play on the fly and finding ways to capitalize on my opponents decision making, the replays I put in my post I feel show my raw talent in just decision making, even though im not a macro god, I feel I have sound decision making and decent micro. I dont ever go into a game with a set strategy in mind, I focus only on a specific openner I think can get me ahead early and abondon it with reckless endangerment within the first 10 mins, I rely mostly on mind games/confusion, finding an opening and capitalizing, thats how I feel you outplay someone.
I am just looking for people who are like-minded, find my playstyle (not build wise but decision-making wise) unique and interesting, and find people who will try to help me out and teach me tricks, hotkey setups/production cycles that can help me to not fall behind like I tend to in mid game. Honestly my preferred style of play is one base. I need to learn how much production I can get off of one base, and what I can and cannot get away with.

I don't think you'd be in gold if your decision making was really very good at all. In fact, I don't see where you could've honed this game sense without playing decent players.
My advice only applies if you wanted to get better. Otherwise, cheese away.

i suggest cheesing to a higher tier then macroing away .
From my current experience everyone is protoss gold down

Currently i am a gold protoss on both NA and Korea/Taiwan servers. I only did my placements on K servers and went 4-1 the one game i lost was to a really good 4 gate dt build. I found it was easier to predict what the people on the Kor/Taiwan servers would do because i thot about what i would do and it seemed to translate well, anywayz im currently online streaming me typing this! lol check out my stream at http://www.twitch.tv/LtAscott im currently 3-0 for this current streaming session!
