.. in the level of epic-ness. Watching opening of the GSL Blizzard Cup Grand Final, I was struck by the number of epic matches that featured Terrans! I didn't count, because I didn't need to. It wasn't even close!
The problem with balance before, atleast one major part of it, was due to the fact that Terran was such a well-designed race. With units that reward micro, Zergs and Toss pro-players were often left struggling.
In order to solve this imbalance, however, Blizzard buffed units that still don't reward micro. Nor did they introduce more rewarding micro into Zerg and Toss gameplay. Thus, we have the problem of a lowered skill ceiling that is wrecking balance in the pro scene. But that's not all!
Combined with imbalance at the pro-level, and the fact that high-reward micro play is so damn fun to watch, SC2 in the e-sports scene is taking a hit. Zerg and Protoss are just not that epic to watch. No offense intended to players, this is purely from a spectator POV.

Yeah that was pretty damn awesome. It also seemed like every TvP was epic, especially Puma v MC games.

Very true. Only through a race that actually requires skill can we have an entertaining game. Unfortunately Blizzard doesnt seem to notice or care that all tournaments are dominated by zerg players in the last year and this is not the worst of it. As Ver very eloquently pointed out in his masterpiece of a thread , zerg imbalance is so big that it smudges the difference in skill between really good zergs and not so good zergs. That is why we have Scarlett taking games off DRG or Life. All recent tournaments sadly have an overabundance of zerg and a shortage of skilled players. In light of recent Blizz decisions buffing infestor range, I am quite convinced somebody at their balance team is quite insane.

I do enjoy watching Terran games. But my favorite matchup to watch is PvP, personally. I also like ZvZ. And I feel like I've seen some exciting games in every matchup.
My favorite matchup in BW was ZvZ, though, so maybe I just have weird taste.

I just think that fungal is a stupid spell. Instant cast that deals massive damage and locks units in place, how do you micro when zerg casts it? I know that splitting should be the answer but if your a bit late then its hopeless and how are you supposed to split well at a low skill level especially moving your army like that?
At least it is being somewhat addressed but even in HOTS it seems like the same base problems remain. Oh well perfect video games don't exist I guess and I still think the game is mostly good and fun.

No I like the mirrors as well, there is more variety and is tense all the way through unlike ZvP where toss does normally does one big attack and zerg just turtles all game long. snore......

Even though i love watching TvT in SC2, when i do watch it which is never, Terran often had the most exciting matches to watch in BW too.

Terran is the only SC2 race where your aim isn't just to sit around and build up a scary army. Its almost amazing how badly Blizzard managed to design Z and P, they're 2 of the dullest races I've played in any RTS game.

Not like you can't "camp" in bw too but the dynamics are way more interesting.

Though, it is true that much fun has gone from most P games because early P is very weak, especially when you consider the cost of units. Zergs don't even bother with early game attacks unless forced or coerced.
I miss the BW days when Mutalisks were so important in all Zerg match-ups. So much micro, so much destruction.
