Car chases in movies....

I just watched the new Bourne movie and, well, son i am disappoint. If you don't want to be spoiled of what the ending scene composes of well, shit, you're out of luck - it's a 10min car chase scene. That's right it's around ten minutes long - Michael Bay just jizzed his pants somewhere in hollywood.

I've never understood car chases at all or why anyone in the history of anything has ever found them exciting. The previous Bourne movies had some decent ones where Matt Damon drove the shit out of some crappy cars and was "smart" about it hence he got away or the upper hand. This last movie has a good old Michael Bay car chase, just driving fast and loose! So exciting! Will they crash?! Oh no bad guy is shooting! How will this end?!

So yeah seriously, does anyone here actually like car chases? And why? How can you like them?

I like the car chases in Ronin and Driver, also Bullitt. The rest i also find boring as hell.

I don't exactly hate them, but they definitely aren't entertaining or a staple of good movie making. Movies should really only have scenes that add something, and ten minutes of car chase where you know exactly how it will end doesn't really sound like it

Yeah in movies like Driver, which is kinda based on car Driving obviously it's fine but that movie doesn't have "ordinary" car chases either tbh. They are specieall iirc since it was a long time i was the movie. Same with the first few Bourne movies, the car chases aren't just driving really fast hoping for the badguy to crash but rather actually trying to outmaneuver the people in pursuit.

Those chase scenes are kinda like a lot of sex scenes in movies. They just make me feel like wtf is this supposed to add to the story? If I want to watch some motherfucking porn I have a ton of websites :/

I liked the chase scene in Matrix 2, otherwise I also think that those sequences are pretty boring.

I hate car chases.

I prefer fight scenes, since at least you can have people jumping off buildings and punching each other through walls.

Yes, i really enjoy the fight scenes in for instance the Bourne series since they are fast paced and looks plausible except them taking 100 blows to the head.
