So back when I just got into Diamond Zerg, I was quite confident at my ZvT play, even when it was pre-ghost nerf/overlord queen buff.
Infestors bloodlords, right?
Getting there could be troublesome, especially before the patch,
bfhellions = you can't get a quick 3rd against a greedy terran, no creep spread unless you spent some gas and minerals for roaches.
you can't scout with lings, you have no idea if he is doing any kind of all in or he is playing greedy. You have to hope your overlord to scout the composition and you have to hope it can see it.
Let me tell you what can come (or at least what I know of/can remember):
2 port banshee
1 port cloak banshee
mass bfhellions
behellions mauraders scv
quick behellions stim marine medivac drop
Quick 3rd
2 base tank marine (now it comes at a time that you can't scout it easily and since there is no creep, harder to defend, plus if you went roaches, they do pretty bad against tank stim marines with medivac)
That is why it was a time when most terran players liked TvZ, where they get to mid game with a huge advantage and even if the game went to late game, ghost snipes countered all zerg T3 extremely cost efficiently.
A lot of the zerg at that time goes for roach baneling bust on 2 base in order to punish terran who went quick 3rd.
So anyway, the reason why I am saying this is actually not that relevant to my blog, it's just the old memories coming back.

That ONE game.

Easy, I thought, I can beat my friend who is master Terran quite consistently.
I am good with infestors. I know how to use them very well. I do things like IT bombs, burrow into their main and natural, sneak fungal on mineral lines and I don't just do them, I know when is the best to do them.
Now I just have to hope he doesn't cheese and when I get my infestors with 3 base economy, I will win.
The game began with 1 rax FE, which at that time was really rare (everyone opened bfhellions), so I just took a quick third and thought to myself: "wow I have won already as long as I get my infestors out"
Then past the 10 mins mark, aggression begins, pure marines medivac, killed off the scouting ling at watchtower.
No tanks in sight which was quite confusing but I crushed it with banelings lings quite easily to buy time for infestors to pop.
Then drops came at my main and my third, I lost some lings and drones here and there, no big deal, I was on 3 base with my 6 gas running.
He then started to deny creep, my map vision began to shrink as viking sniping off my overlords, I was no longer sure if I can drone safely anymore.
Then came more marines and medivac, I cleaned it up with fungal and lings.
Then more marines and medivac denying creeps and pushing up, I cleaned it up again.
Then marines run by, I lost some drones.
Drops came, I lost some drones and killed the medivac with fungal.
By this time, I am a bit low on drones, around 60, not the best and I can't afford to put too many spines.
Those constant pressure made me never able to leave my half of the map, let alone creep spread.
And I finally decided to do a ling run by after killing off 2 medivac with fungals
I managed to kill off some SCVs, and I SAW my nightmare, tonnes more marines medivac and what's worse, he had 5 bases.
I tried to grab a forth while getting my ultras out. He pushed again, same units, my infestors were low on energy because I used a few to snipe medivacs before and I lost a lot of lings even though they were 3-3 with AD. I couldn't save my forth.
He did a run by again, sniping off even more drones and I had to take a risk:
Drones or units.
I chose ultras.
they melted to a round of marauders
and I lost, out macro-ed, out micro-ed, out multi tasked.
I had to alt+f4 to leave the game. The game left me with utter bitterness.
It's not because I lost to a guy who just mass marines medivac for almost the whole game, not because I was out played and disappointed at myself
it was because I felt that is how he played felt so SWARM-like.
A non stop stream of mobile units, aggression at multiple location, blinding the enemy, install the fear factor, expand aggressively.
Today I cleaned up my computer and so I don't have the replay with me anymore and I don't remember the opponent's name but I just want to say this if he ever read my blog:
"GG man, you too gosu"
I am now a pure bio style terran at high Plat level.
See you on ladder someday soon dude.
