Internet-Ready TV, how do?

I want to be able to surf and view Youtube videos on the Internet using a TV. My uncle has been getting into badminton, so I want to be able to show him games on Youtube, for example:

Is buying an internet-ready DVD player the easiest option? I’m looking at the Sony Internet-ready models, which seem to be around $100. http://www.amazon.com/Sony-BDP-S590-Blu-ray-Player-Wi-Fi/dp/B006U1YUZE/ref=sr_1_5?ie=UTF8&qid=1352160417&sr=8-5&keywords=internet dvd

Quite expensive - are there cheaper alternatives that can do what I'm looking for?

Do any of you regularly use the internet on a TV, and if so, how? I’m not too interested in hooking up a computer, as there are no spares and doesn’t seem very convenient. If any of you have a internet-DVD player and browse on it (possible to hook up a USB keyboard?), please post!

the easiest solution for me is just hooking up my TV to my desktop PCs graphic card as a second monitor. To make this work you have to a) check what kind of connections your graphic card has and b) what kind of connections your TV has c) find a cable that connects those.

HDMI to HDMI or DVItoHDMI are the easiest hook ups.

Rapberry Pi + XBMC = 35$ media center. Add a wireless keyboard/remote thingy for another 35$ and you're set.

Can you elaborate more on this solution? I heard of the Raspberry Pi before, but is it powerful enough to handle this purpose? I don't want there to be a bottleneck due to video card / processing power. Can anyone confirm that this solution indeed is as elegant as it seems to be?

Haha yeah. Badminton looks boring unless its played at the highest levels, but then it looks amazing.
