At this point the team had had a few meets and we were all getting to know each other
a lot better. Every player had their own style and everyone had something to learn or teach.
It was a humbling experience see your play dissected and broke down into the smallest
aspects by a team of guys there with the sole purpose of helping you improve.
Nevertheless I felt the team needed some excitement, some motivation to keep going,
and the need to see if their play actually was improving. Enter SFNoisyNinja.
Without going into to much detail, I knew ninja from my original "I want to start a team" post.
He actually had replied via PM in game and told me to visit their in game channel. However, I
was interested in joining a clan, I was about having my own clan.
Since he was the only other Clan leader I knew of at the time I figured I'd ask
if his team was up for a friendly battle. LET THE EPICNESS ENSUE.
The plan was to set a date for the war however one sunny summer day Ninja said his team was ready. I assembled my team and off to battle we went
Best of 9 series All Kill format
Loser chooses map.
First map was chosen by Ninja and I before first match.
Since this was our first clan war I played the match ups completely by ear and by
suggestion made from the team. Unfortunately I felt bad because I knew not all the team would be able to participate but at least we could all watch. Many of the players were live streaming the CW so not matter what happened we could all tune into the battles. Though we didn't know going into the first map, The Team decided that yours truly would start game 1.
Would like to think about that a second. ME? After all this work I had put in to
making a clan and making sure the team was awesome, I was chosen? I'm not questioning
my play but It was the Idea that all of my work could come down to this game. I was
going to show my team how I was under pressure and most of all, I was the player who
had to set the pace for the team. I honestly felt the weight of the world on my
shoulders. I had never ever ever been so nervous as the match counter went to zero.
The seconds clicked away felt like hours, my hands were sweating, shaking, and then it hit
zero...Our first clan war was about to begin.

First game DOxReyder V SFPotatoLisk
Entombed valley was the battle ground. Pretty decent map in my opinion but vertical spawns shouldn't be possible since its easy to siege up naturals or quick attack due to short distance.
Since its the most symmetrical map we agreed to start there.
My original plan was to go rax FE get stim shield and push while 1-1 was finishing. A tactic that in the gold's works wonders. I was so nervous that my hands weren't working and I was miss-clicking every possible thing I could.
If you noticed at the beginning I had my rax scv start a depot and leave the rax alone. Then when the depot was almost done I cancelled it and started the rax again. So bad but my hands would just would not respond. This was the strangest thing, I have never been so nervous that my hands just would not work.
Since I felt I was crazy behind and I had forgotten to build my second ebay to set up my 1-1 timing, I figured I'd turtle up and wait for an attack.
Luckily I didn't have to wait long as my natural depots spotted a pylon going down. I saw it a little late and by the time I responded the prism had gotten the immortals down. I began to focus fire the prism when for some reason he loaded the immortals back in and down they all went. WHEW! Even though my army was stuck behind some FF he had lost the high ground vision and I knew I was fine.
I figured it was all or nothing now as my floating factory finally got through its way points to the main and I saw a Templar archive. I had to push before the storms hit as I wasn't even close to making ghosts. GOGOGOGO!
The battle at his ramp was intense for me. I knew I had to bait the FF's but I was fully expecting to lose a large chunk of my army to FF, but at least I could take control of the map and pin him down. I stimmed charged up and immediately pulled back the FF's where far from perfect and my army was able to escape which caused a bottle neck on his zelots. A second round of FF's caught some army but I was noticing my supply count go higher and higher even though
I was losing troops. I had forgotten my rally of reinforcements DOH!
With 1-1 done though MMM was more than enough to deal with the ground army and luckily no storms in site. The rest was simple his natural down and army gone. Time to go win! Charged up the main ramp sniped a Templar and archon and PotatoLisk left the game.
There was no GG but in the chat channel he did. No BM from PotatoLisk afterwards he was just supremely disappointed about his prism drops. Who wouldn't be? That probably cost him the game. Also with his attack not succeeding he had to go back to macroing which he had fell behind on. His natural had barely any probes. I knew I was nervous and I guess he was to.
It's funny what a little friendly competition will do to your game play. Anyway DOx wins GAME 1! I had successfully got my team started on the right foot.
But no time to celebrate next opponent was ready. GAME 2 about to start!
Tune in next time for Game 2.
