Ok another update is here. I've been able to work almost uninterrupted since my last post except for a 6 hour LoL session with friends (what the f*ck? I like starcraft more). On to the features.

First I finished the level 2 version of the fireball spell. The idea was to have 3 standard fireballs spinning around in a spiral and I thought I'd have to use some complex(?) math. As they were supposed to spin that'd be quite heavy on the resources as well I believe to update once every frame for every object. I found a simpler solution to just spin the whole object and have the fireballs fixed in position

Then I made the next level of the lightning spell discipline which is a couple of items thrown out forward and where they hit the ground, lightning will strike. This really required a lot of different scripts and stuff but I worked it out without any major headaches.

If there's anything you'd like to see just say so and if you got any questions, just ask them. Now I have some more work in school so it might be a while until the next update, not to mention I'm not even sure what to do next heh.

Great work! I haven't seen your other blogs but I'll check them out. I once tried to make a game in Unity, and I still might in the future, dunno if it's a "permanently retired" project just yet, so I'll refrain from any details about it.

I spent about two weeks figuring out how to program everything I needed in order to make the game work how I wanted it, and then I kinda fizzled out. When it came to the tedious coding of some things, and the idea that I had that I would have to model everything myself instead of finding someone who could help with that, I gave up.

Maybe one day in the future I'll get back into it and relearn some things. For now, I'll let my dreams of making a finished game in Unity go with you. Don't give up!

Thanks I hope you pick your project back up some time, I feel like unity needs more love from game developers in general.

Hmm I don't think so. This is my first time making a game as well as a programmer, I've been doing art before. So I don't really have any other engines to compare too but everything feels logical. If I had started with UDK for example I believe I wouldn't have gotten this far. Overall with programming it doesn't really feel like C++ which I've worked with before althouth I'm using C# in unity. The concepts of programming are the same but most of the time I use functions from their library. That's probably the biggest difference, all the stuff you get for free. And yeah it sure makes it easier than it would be to create a game from scratch as well.
