I had my first computer when I was 6. I do not remember much about its specs, but I know for sure that the PC had 20 Gb of hard drive. One of my first game was an arcade on PC game, do not remember the name though. In the beginning, you were a cop, respond to a bank robbery. It was in first person view. You auto-walk through the scene, and when a robber appeared, a red circle highlighted him and you have to use your mouse and shot the guys. There was also car chasing scene, leading to a dock. I do not remember much, but I know I was fun, for a 6 years old at least.
My 3 next games, still were one of my very first, not in particular order were The Sims (1), Age of Empire 2, and Bomberman on PC ms-dos. I did not even know how the hell I got these games. Either my aunt( who give me the first SCBW (cracked CD ever), my friends ???, I just don't remember.
It was called Dyna Blaster too.
I did not play Bomberman at home, but at school. You see, in my elementary school, we had 1 or 2 hours each week of basic Computer Science lessons. The game was a lot of fun in itself, but playing with my friends just take it to a whole new level. Beating the game was hard and fun, but playing with 3 other friends, last man standing was just hilarious.
Then AOE 2, such a beautiful, well-made game. Unfortunately, my English sucked in the first few years I was playing it ( sorry I forgot to mention, I'm not a native English speaker). It was so bad that I did not know how to get from the 1st age ( Dark Age ?) to the next age T__T. No friends who play AOE, no Internet connecction... However, the game was so good that I still had fun with it. My best time was in a map, where you town hall spawn in the middle, surrounded by grass field, with resource. Then there was a giant forest circle the whole thing, outside was the desert, nothing but sand. I think it was not an actual map, but part of the campaign or sth. I just stay in Dark Age, built farmers, collected resources and built whatever was available. I just like to build stuff, probably why I love The Sim so much too.
So simple, yet so beautiful isn't it.
As I got older( around age 10-11), my English comprehension skills got better too. I finally understand more about AOE 2, and the RTS side of it. But I sucked at it, so I use cheats -__- .... Build great walls circle my base, a gazillions towers and castle, then built max food of Champion Knights and go kill the coms. Not to mention the Castle and Wonders look really awesome, give you the feeling of majestic and grandeur ( I like nice stuff and building ^_^ ). Oh and the prove of how creative AOE is, lies in the cheat. Rock On, Robin Hood, etc ... And the grand winner is 'HOW DO YOU TURN THIS ON'. In a medieval RTS game, sudden a wild blue car appear, armed with machine guns, you just can't help but laughing.
Pew pew pew
Then there was The Sims lol. One of the awesome game that my poor computer could handle. Choose a job is hard, and making friends while still go to work is even harder ( at least for me). However, the real fun came with the expansions. I played The Sims: Unleashed, and The Sims: Makin' Magic. Not much to say about unleashed, but Making Magic, was like, the best expansion of a game ever. Besides being a normal citizen, you get to be a wizard too, with fire, lightning, ice and some other spells ( in combat only). And you had access to a magical town, besides your normal town. In there, you could perform magic tricks in the park, or battle other people for magic coins. When you had enough coins, you can buy a house in the magic town to stay there.
Best image I could find for a duel. Sorry for the bad quality.
Well now I just got into secondary school, and explore a whole new world of gaming. But I should leave it in another day, as this blog is quite long already. This is also my first blog entry, hope you like it ^_^.
