What was your first Homecoming dance like?
I'm typing this out on my phone so I apologize for spelling,grammar, etc.
So this year was my first attemding homecoming as I'm a freshman, and I wish I could use the excuse of not knowing what to expect, but I can't. My older Brother told me exactly what was going to go on which is straight grinding for 3 hours. Now I'm the type of guy that will just go up to girls and start hitting on them so i figured i would enjoy that type of thing, yeah I was wrong.
After panicking because I couldn't find my shoes i finally got to the dance about 5 minutes before it started. The first half hour I spent meeting up with friends. Then the dancefloor was starting to flood with people. Showtime.
I went up to this cute brunette and her friend and started to dance with them. She smiled at me and said,"I'm just hiding from my date." To this i responded with "A girl as pretty as you deserves two." She laughed said I was cute and walked off.
I spotted this pretty blonde girl in like 3 inch heels dancing and started to grind on her but after five minutes I thought to myself, why am I doing this and just walked off. After that i watched the guys breakdancing in the middle of the circle for a while until i was starting burn up in my blazer so my friend and I went outside to get some water and cool off.
While we were out there these two girls decided we were cute and asked us if we wanted to dance, naturally we said yes. After about 2 minutes of dancing my friend decides to walk off leaving me with the two girls. One of them starts grinding up on me pretty hard and after like a half an hour i get that thought in my head again about why the hell am i doing this, so i told them i had to go find my friend and ejected myself from the situation. After a bit of dancing i ended up hanging out with my good friend jeffrey, who shared the same thoughts as me about why grinding was weird to us. Later though i found him grinding with his ex i guess that's good for him I'm not sure.
There was only about a half hour left so i spent most of the time dancing with friends tried grinding a couple more times, got rejected once but no big deal really. I had an alright time at homecoming.
Two weird thing were that one guy randomly punched my friend in the balls, and another guy had his dick out 0_o

What a bro! Though hitting on girls at homecoming is like trying to catch a fish by deep sea diving. Makes it more complicated than it needs to be. Just say smd and you will have glory

Your title seems to be a little misleading... why did it suck? You had the opportunity to get some action (or at least dance) if you wanted to. The scene just seemed boring to you, although it seemed like the stereotypical homecoming (minus your last sentence).
My high school didn't have a homecoming dance. Just a junior and senior prom, but those were awesome (I don't mind dancing).

I don't know it just sucked for me cause I didn't have that much fun and the school charged $20 for a ticket which seems overpriced imo

Oh that's cool. Each grade in our high school raises money via fundraisers throughout their four years to try and lower their prom costs (and lowering other costs, like yearbooks), but we still always end up paying a little something in the end.

At my school the tickets are quite expensive which sucks because at all of the other high schools around our the tickets are like 3 dollars

Grinding is really awkward for me, personally. It's mainly what makes me not want to go to anymore dances. Thank god it's my senior year.

Pretty much this also I think grinding to get with girls is stupid too because there are guys that will grind with a girl for an hour and not get her number but if you talk to a girl for at least 10 min. at a party and play your cards right your almost guaranteed to get her number. long term gain>short term gain
