I've had a bucket list on a notepad for quite some time just lying amongst my desk items and I recalled that I haven't really given much thought to trying to expand the list, or to really get down to completing it in a reasonable time frame.
With that in mind, I figured that I could motivate myself by putting it in a blog and being able to get suggestions, update progress, etc... through the use of this blog.
This is an initial list of items, only referencing and starting with things I haven't done up until this point, and not including old goals I've already completed.

Ride in a hot air balloon Go sky diving Go scuba diving Go to a gun range Go on a cruise Own a penguin Break a Guiness World Record Storm chase in Tornado Alley
Creativity

I can assure you, riding in a hot air balloon is the most boring thing on your bucket list, not even worth it imo. And why own a penguin when kangaroos are so easy to catch Also visit Croatia before you kick the bucket. Were pretty chill, have a clean sea, good food + we need the moneyz.

Especially the list OP posted. No. 1: ULYSSES by James Joyce. HAHAHA good luck with that. EDIT: On topic: Never really thought about it, but i really want to run a marathon. Ive done a half before but im hoping to run a full one next year.

I wouldn't publish through conventional means (self-publish/service), though I wouldn't necessarily be trying to produce a best-seller.

That's probably true, it would be quite boring.
And Croatia was just off my original list. A friend mentioned it to me from their experiences as they backpacked through Europe. I'll keep it under consideration for inclusion.

For reference, it'd be the reader's list from that site, not the board's. That said, what would be a better way to pick in your opinion?
Most of mine are festivals, events and traveling. Rio Carnival, La Tomatia (Missed that his summer ), Holi, Oktoberfest in Germany, etc etc..... attending a World Cup, attend an Olympics... attend a Stanley Cup Final.
I've already backpacked some of western Europe and did the running of the bulls. Eastern europe and South America are on there too. Actually, I'd just like to travel to all continents at some point. I already hit Italy and I want to get the rest of my backgrounf (Ukraine and HUngary) at some point too. Road trip across the US.
Scuba diving and sky diving are definitely on mine as well. Skydiving scares the shit out of me though. I hate heights.

i like it, but your 100 top novel list is crap. dont only does the boards list seem to be way better than the readers list., but also both lists only have english literature. i mean, some many awesome novels are wasted. and the readers list also has several novels of L. Ron Hubbard, the completly crazy sciencetology founder. i never read them, but i am pretty sure they are bad/ not as good as so many other ones.
Please don't waste your time trying to read Ulysses. It's my humble opinion that nobody understands or enjoys this novel and that snobby literature types are just afraid to admit this; a huge case of "The Emperor's New Clothes," so to speak. (Obviously I did not understand or enjoy the 50 pages of Ulysses I managed to get through).
The reader's list also seems fairly manipulated, seeing as there are numerous Ayn Rand and L. Ron Hubbard entries, and the subject matter of these two authors could hardly be more opposite. I say this as an Objectivist.

The best thing about the reader's list is that Ayn Rand and L. Ron Hubbard make up half the top ten. LMAO

I was tired enough to read this instead of what CoW actually wrote. Time for bed.

btw, on the topic ulysses: if you want at easy and readable novel and you are more into trivial literature, dont pick it. but if you are not afraid to read one of the biggest milestones in literature, the best novel of the 20th century and possibly the best english novel of all time, read it.
If you want novels which are both, easy to read and understand, but also have a high status in literature, i recommend Orwells 1984 and Animal Farm, both are on yours 100 novel list.
if you want good literature of the 20th century, i would recommend you to check the novels of Fitzgerald, Hemmingway, Orwell, Kafka, Musil, the Mann brothers, Proust. you should be able to find some good ones.
* Attend an Olympics... I'm already planning a trip with my dad and my wife and daughter to Rio. * Develop and release my own video game. Been trying to do this for about 18 months now with a friend... it's hard work. * Own my own game development company. Technically I already do, but we've never sold anything * Teach my daughter to play SC2 and get her into Master's league by the age of 10. JOKES. Or not... * Return to Terschellings Island in Holland and take part or just watch the shows at Oeral Festival. * For Viva la Dirt League to perform live at Blizzcon, a GSL Final, or something of that callibre... * To run a half marathon in less than 1 hour 30 minutes (to beat my dad's best time). Current best is 1 hour 58... got injured during that so I believe I can do it with some better training. * Try rowing... don't know why but I just want to.
Some of the stuff I've already done which I'm pretty glad I've experienced:
* Wrote, directed, and acted in my own solo theatre show in the Fringe Festival in Wellington, New Zealand. * Travelled to Terschellings Island in The Netherlands and took part in Oerol Festival as part of my studies. * Auditioned, got in, and spent the best 3 years of my life at the New Zealand Drama School. * Became deputy head prefect at my school. Meaningless now but I was proud at the time. * Witnessed the birth of my daughter... and still loving getting to know her as she gets older. Her smiles destroy me (she's 15 weeks old). * Got to travel and work in Sydney, Australia for 3 months by myself. Pretty much the biggest party time I've ever had. Pretty amazing earning good money, living in a hotel, knew some people there from drama school so I had a great time. * Got married to the hottest girl I've ever met. I remember the day I met her when we first met as a class at drama school I looked over and saw her and actually said in my head "wow, she's hot, I'll never ever get to be with a girl that beautiful" and six months later we got together... been together over 7 years now.

I'll take all these into accounts. I've never had an issue when it comes to digesting novels, even obscure ones so stuff like Ulysses shouldn't be a problem.

You should do the cage diving (is that what its called?) thing where you're ina cage and great whites swim around you/bite the cage.
I considered cage diving, but I'm not the biggest fan of being surrounded in a seemingly "enclosed" feeling under water. Big scary sharks being around me probably wouldn't help that situation. :D

Some nice stuff you have on there. I'll have to do a little more soul-searching for some other specific things to add to my list.
