When the game came out, I wasn't sure about playing an MMO, but my friend talked me into it by buying me the Collectors Edition for my birthday. They played from launch, so they had a few weeks head start on me. When I first logged in, I was greeted with all the best stuff. Armor, weapons, a house, millions of credtis, they even gave me this pet cat that could kill most things in a hit or two, but didn't need any creature handler ability to use. I named him Compton, cuz he was so gangster. Playing an MMO for the first time was like smoking weed for the first time. It was completely foreign to me, and I didn't really understand what was going on half the time. But I knew I liked it. Being naturally outgoing, I met a lot of people. Most of the guys I played with were RL friends, so if we met someone from California, we invited them to come to one of our parties. I made a lot of really great friends. It seems like you have a ton of stories. A lot of them sound like things that happen to me, different, but the same. If that makes any sense when you read it. What was it like the first time you played an MMO?
I've actually never played an MMO in my life. I used to love to play the Mario games, but most of all I loved to play Super Metroid. I had a neighbor who never really went outside, and never really talked to anyone. He was 5 years older than me, and was special needs. In kindergarten we had these egg carton flower pots that we made for Mother's day, in which we had written "I love you Mom" on the bottom of them, so there was this big black guy who was 5 years older than me too. He gave me a black eye, smashed my flower on the bus, and then told me to pick up my mess. My special needs neighbor picked him up over his head, and threw him across the bus. I was in tears.
My neighbor took me to his house, and put band aids all over me, so that I would look tougher. Then he taught me how to play Super Metroid. That was my first ever video game, but I would go over to his house all the time to play it with him.
special needs kid did all this? i'm surprised
He wasn't dumb, he just had a hearing problem. He could hear, but the way he received it was messed up. He couldn't understand a word we said, and we couldn't understand a word he said. He would talk to me by typing on his computer, and then letting his mom read what he had written. I only knew my alphabet at the time, but I pretty much so learned how to read that summer, so I wouldn't always need his mom telling me what he was writing.
As for cyber bullying that was mostly my younger brother in be he would hack with friends on custom games. In sc2 he gets into arguments and settles them with 1v1. At that point I take over and then he resumes his trashtalking.
Have any of you taken part in some form of cyber bullying, in which most people wouldn't really consider it cyber bullying? I feel kind of bad about this, but when I first started playing Broodwar, Pokemon was still kind of hot. I had this friend in my clan who I played UMS with a lot. He was from Philly, and was a christian extremist. He didn't believe in Pokemon, because of the evolution, and would get really mad at me for playing it. I told him that I quit the game, and that I was really happy that he was looking out for me. I asked him if he thought I would go to heaven, and he said, "I think so." I told him good, because I really want to see him there. He asked me if I wanted to be his girl friend, so I was like yes! He got really happy, and truly did love me, but he didn't know that I had another boyfriend from Texas on Broodwar.
I ended up pressuring both of them into believing that I thought they were cheating on me. I ended up requiring them to write a long detailed diary about their days, and I said that I would write one about my day too, so it would be special for if we ever got married.
The Texas guy wrote about how much he could lift, and his position on the football team, and how all the girls would talk about how hot he was. The guy from Philly would draw out the maps he was making for UMS, and would tell me about his special "I love you! <3" code. He ended up writing over 100 pages in a notebook just about UMS map creation, and micro/macro builds (He improved significantly over this time too). The football player guy only wrote about 20 pages, but it was over just 15 days. I thought the guy from Philly was joking about writing that much.
When I received the notebooks from the 2 guys, I ended up mailing the two guys each others notebook. The really religious guy was extremely impressed by how much he thought I worked out, and how fast and strong I was. Then from other clan members, they started telling me that this guy was talking a ton about me, and that they were curious if I could really squat 400 lbs. I was like yeah, I do it everyday. I had no clue what I could squat, probably because I had never lifted weights in my life.
This caused a lot of drama, in which one guy called me a liar, and then the guy from Philly ended up cursing at him, which was the only time I had ever seen him curse on the game, or talk in all caps. Then they showed him on youtube, that if i could really squat that much, then I would be like a professional, and he asked me why I lied. I said I meant 40 lbs, but then he asked me if I could really bench 300 lbs. I was like yeah why? That's when he found out I had been lying to him, and I had to go in front of this clan trial thing for lying like that.
I ended up telling the story about how I switched the notebooks, and that he actually had a crush with the guy from Texas. He ended up sending me a picture of him crying, and it really broke my heart. I felt so bad for lying to him.

My brothers account is gold league but that was me messing around on it. He doesn't play 1v1.. cause he's an achievement whore. Im mid masters to almost highmasters depending on how much I play. Do u play sc2 or just be?

I used to be really into BW, like when WGT and WDT was around. I ended up joining this really good primarily korean clan, in which the leader had beaten boxer in a televised match.
I tried playing SC2, and did ok in tournaments. I didn't ladder much, but I was top 200. Only made $5 out of all the tournaments I played in though. I just got annoyed with how Z was so underpowered at the beginning, but yet I had to deal with all these people who had no clue what they were doing, except some cookie cutter build. Some people asked me why I didn't switch races from z to p or t, but I felt like blizzard would balance it soon enough. By the time it was december, I felt like the game wasn't close to balanced. I kind of wish they brought back some of the things in broodwar, like the part where you can only control 12 units at one time, or 1 structure at a time. I felt like it increased the skill gap in the game, which made it more exciting.
I really thought this build was amazing. After the game had been out for some year, a pro ends up doing this build flawlessly against his opponent in a televised match. The zerg was just frustrated, and couldn't do anything. In the beginning of broodwar, mech was very rare to see. Towards the mid-sc2 release, mech was quite common.
I never played I cup in bw because I didn't know about actual competition until sc2 came out. However I played a lot of micro games and used hotkeys which helped a lot in playing sc2. As for balance I still one base zerg until my standard becomes better.
On August 02 2012 20:54 MysteryMeat1 wrote: P. Btw that was a pretty cool build. I got another weird look when he said "r u ready" and I replied yes. I wonder what he thinks I'm doing back here
lol, well I'd say don't just 1 base Z. I would highly recommend trying to get the most information out of your opponent by scouts. For example, when I played, I could look at the tosses chrono, which told me whether or not the toss was going to go 3/4 gate on me. I could count the pylons, to tell if the toss was going to go proxy vs me. By looking at those 2 things, it's practically like a free win if I scout it. As the game goes on, there's more randomness, and more chances of you/your opponent guessing wrong. You can come up with rates for optimal probe counts, based off of how many drones they have and hatcheries/queens. If you know these, it makes it far easier to come up with a better worker to army ratio. You can't win all your practice games, but you can learn a lot faster than the other players can. I'm off for a run, good luck.
I know that. However the current pvz metagame is 200/200 roach spam at 12 minutes due to forge fast expand. At this point p has either successfully defended said roach spam or lost. It then goes to a 16-17 minute broodlord infestor timing. To delal with it you use mothership. Since it might be removed I've been practicing non mothership pvz. And I'm almost ready to stop one basing zergs. I play pretty standard for all other matchups.
Hf with ur run. I hate running in the morning. I prefer at night
