It was almost like picking a D+ ranked player to play vs a C ranked player. Combat would put guides up, but if I remember right, they kind of ignored the meta, and he didn't really have the mechanics to play mid game toss. The majority of his builds were just proxy gates. People may criticize him for this, but at the same time, if you can't beat it every time, or if you don't know how to scout it every time, then are you really a good player. There are limits to the amount of minerals that you can mine, and in the beginning, the avg. players should be able to at least calculate their minerals. I want you to know, that I don't think it was right of him to abuse ladder. I don't think it was right of him to make it seem that he was a lot better than he actually was. I don't think it was right of him for "pimping" newbs out, to a point where they believed he was high level play, and then using them for free ladder points. When you think about it though, those points didn't get him a girl friend. They didn't get him paid. They didn't get him sponsors. They probably just motivated him to continue playing SC, so that he could try to actually live up to being a real B ranked player. People criticize people for stream sniping others, but is that as bad as some of the things that went on in BW? Just think about 2l-testie. He map hacked vs pros, and would show off the replays of him beating them. Once the replay patch came out that detected map hack, testie stopped showing his replays off. Sometimes I wonder if he never would have been able to reach his level of play without the hacks. It's almost as if he was able to learn what to scout for with his hacks at certain times, so that he would not come across as a hacker.

When you post something like this, it can be hurtful to the people that he's beaten. I know he's a good player, but you need to be more encouraging to the others. There was once a time, where a big named player had a show match set up to bash on a ladder abuser. In this show match, the commentator was very rude to the player even. Neither of the players apologized to the person, but the worst part of all is that it brought an even worse image on the community. .........day9 bullies people into being better players. If you watch his dailys he basically forces you to become better een if you do not want to

He teaches them the basics, and shows them how some one would analyze a game. No one has to follow him, but yet he has a lot of followers. He's really smart too, so I hope he's helped you a lot.
