Also, I still don't understand why they even felt the need to reboot the franchise. Granted, DMC4 wasn't the greatest, but I thought it still sold okay. Not to mention, DMC4 not doing well is probably the fault of the game, not the brand. DMC3 is still one of my all time favorite games. So, not very excited about it. Am still butthurt over the reboot. Am still worried about the gameplay and style. I'll definitely try it if there's a positive reception, but I personally doubt it. | ||

And watching the original trailers my heart sunk. Seeing the weapon was a scythe my hopes died. But watching the latest gameplay videos I will allow a smidgeon of optimism to remain. The gameplay looks like it should and some of the environments are borderline sexy. Perhaps it will go some to way to assuage the insult still felt by the way halfway through DMC4 you turn around and replay the first half as Dante. With the same bosses, god dammit. You lazy bastards Capcom. ...and Dante wasn't even fun to play in 4! All I wanted the whole time was Nero's arm back! | ||

I've been playing a lot on my pc recently....not much on my console (havent played gaiden 2 and ff13 too..the discs are just lying there...). ...and Dante wasn't even fun to play in 4! All I wanted the whole time was Nero's arm back! Haha yeah! I was thinking the same thing, I was like wait...this is supposed to be the best part...but it feels clunky! | ||

This move could either prove to brilliant or a huge failure which will prompt them to go back to their internal development. I really like the vibrant color scheme, its kind of refreshing. Like most, I was skeptical of this reboot, but I'm definitely willing to give it a chance. I WILL be waiting for reviews, however, as Ninja Gaiden 3 (my other favorite action series) seems to be completely botched. I'll probably be willing to try it if it even gets just mediocre or mixed reviews, because the series means a lot to me. I'm just hoping it isn't a complete disaster. Tbh the white-haired, red-coated Dante does look a bit dated and mid-90's for video games right now, even one that isn't especially serious like DMC. I can understand why Capcom might want to try something different, and given that DMC (beyond possibly the first one) has never been a huge seller, they want to take a risk and try an outside developer. I feel like the 3d, high difficulty action genre has been flagged in this generation of super-casual, super-entitled gaming, so it probably doesn't stand to be a big money-maker either way. | ||
