UPDATE - Two new pictures from yesterday:

So, my girlfriend and I got a puppy (Chibi) about two months ago. Here are some pics. She decided that he needed a friend because she leaves him alone a lot while she is at school, and she starts rotations soon. So, I introduce Sophie, our new 2 month old maltipoo (Maltese / Poodle mix). She is less than a pound now, and will likely not grow more than a few pounds at most.

Are they really protective? In my experience with toy dogs, most are. It's really entertaining to see a 5 lb dog bark its ass off like it's 10x bigger.
Cute! Due to my experience with toy types I'm a fan of bigger dogs, but I'm a dog lover and they are always good company.

too early to tell. i really hate yappers and am a fan of bigger dogs for that reason. mostly chibi will bark when he wants attention, which we are trying to train him not to do. sophie doesn't make much noise at all except when she is playing with chibi, and then she does a weird bark/growl/whatever sound that kind of sounds like a bird. we have only had her for a few days so i am hoping she (and he) doesn't turn into a yapper. we did take them to a dog park for the first time on sunday, and chibi loved to yap at other dogs from underneath my legs. she just slept--she wasnt allowed on the ground because she hasn't finished her vaccinations yet.
