Short bit on my experiences with TL community

Ever since I've started using the internet, back in the dialup AOL pay-per-hour days, I was totally fascinated with all it had to offer. I really liked the social parts and spent a good portion of time in various forums and chat rooms (usually through IRC). However, a lot of my time spent in other communities were short spent. Team Liquid is the one exception.

I don't even remember exactly how I was introduced to TeamLiquid. It either was through discussions with people in Battle.Net SC:BW, or the Battle.Net forums themselves. Either way, I have always felt like this is the best community the internet has to offer. I feel like the moderation is top notch and the majority of posters whom I respect all seem to agree they wouldn't have the forums any other way. There is always tons of interesting content and resources available through TL and for that I am very thankful I found TL.

(Posting this was inspired by watching the documentary Liquid Rising which I donated some money to, even though my financial situation isn't so great)

I remember my first few days on TL we had this thread where everyone thought they were the ones that TL had deemed creepiest kid on the internet.

I uploaded a noob replay of myself and thought everyone was laughing at me because the replay system was only for pro games. I wanted to use it in a thread. There were a few people who laughed at me.

I'm just recounting how immature I was. And how TL used to be a much more dickish place. Rose tinted glasses make me want to think everything was better then.

I remember some of my first posts on SC:BW was about me struggling as a Protoss to beat the Terran mech when it got established. For those only familiar with SC2 tanks, you might think this is a joke. SC:BW tanks were BEASTLY let me tell you. You walked near them and you knew you were going to get Dragoon goo splattered all across the ground. I never got my mechanics good enough in SC:BW to be able to properly execute breaking them with things like zealot bombs while macroing behind it, and ended up playing mostly UMS while watching pro-games for the 1v1s.

The TL community used to be amazing. Like anything when it gets too large, however, it's not anywhere near what it once was. It's still not bad, though.

I really hate the witch hunts, and the dozens of pseudo intellectuals shitting all over the place. It's just stupid.

I prefer pseudo intellectuals over actual retards. It's just more fun to facepalm then.
