My initial thoughts were on how detailed the characters and environment looked while being rendered in Real-Time. The demo was obviously running on a high-end PC, but Next-Gen consoles will hopefully be able to use the engine as well as it looked in the tech-demo .
While the demo was indeed jaw dropping, I would really love if Square-Enix took a note back from their pre-FFX era and delved into a more expansive and deep world. I enjoyed FF 13 and FF13-2, however they didn't resonate with me as much as the pre-FFX era games did. The series moved away towards a much more streamlined and narrow approach which I didn't particular hate. But I do want the world map back, I want Towns back, I want an incredible story back. All these elements have been lackluster from the series in the last couple of years.
With Versus 13 I thought that this might actually come to an end and we might finally get a fantastic entry that the series needed but that game is now nowhere to be found. Hopefully it gets released sometimes before the Next-Gen because I really don't want square taking the game on hardware they are not fimilar with yet and end up not making the game as polished as it should be.
Either ways, I'm excited about what the future holds for the series. Hopefully ,starting with Verus 13, we finally get a game that truly hits the jackpot and gives the fans the Final Fantasy title they deserve.
