I am working together with some people on an ongoing read-and-respond postcard project. It's really as simple as it sounds:
1. We (collaborators and myself) produce a monthly print run of postcards with hypothetical questions or prompts on them. These questions run in the vein of: "What's that one perfect comeback that you never got to use?" and "Five words, that if said to you right now, would change your life."
2. We distribute them - give them to people we know, leave them in places for people to find, etc.
3. People find the cards, read the prompts, write, draw or create their response on the reverse side, add postage, and mail them back.
4. (in the works at this stage) We collect back responses and post a selection of them as an ongoing feed on our website.
We are hoping to get a wide range of people involved (and hopefully some diverse responses), so I'm opening this offer up to members of TL: if you are interested in being on the receiving end of some of these prompt cards, please send your mailing details via PM or email (khaydarin9@hotmail.com), and I will send you a selection. If you think you would be up for passing cards on to a few more people - family, friends, acquaintances, randoms - let me know and I will send you more. I'm happy - even excited! - to mail cards to any country in the world (my budget and I may regret this offer in the future), but I ask that you only request cards if you'll make an effort to send your response back, which will, for most of you, involve a small amount of international postage.
