After a short sit down session of ladder and being endlessly abused by 'L2P', 'Get better noob', *insert balance whine here*...etc I've decided I've really had enough for awhile.
I can understand why people rage when they lose, especially if they lose to something that they deem is a 'stupid' strategy, I've been there before, spoilt a few keyboards, punched a few walls, I know how that feels. Every time I do that though, I've never ever found myself telling my opponent to 'l2p' or get 'better' because I know that this is a game, competitive as it may be, the reasons why a person plays it is completely up to him/her.
Some of us may play the game to try and break it into the pro scene. The general vibe of this website seems to point all of us in that direction but I personally, don't harbour such ambitions and just want to enjoy the game I play... even if it means *gasp* just 'cheesing' and doing stupid unpredictable strategies that catches your opponent offguard, ending up in an interesting game for all. We do this to unwind. We do this because we sometimes cannot afford the endless hours of grinding mechanics and focusing on typical orthodox (macro) stratagies which take up time. Some of us just want a quick game, even if it means all-inning every single game and not 'improving' as much as the next person.
We all have different aims and motivations for playing the game, if people can't understand that then it really just takes the fun out of the game.

I will hazard a guess that you are in the silver to low masters range. This skill group is full of the most angry people on the server you will meet.
I'm now in high masters, and it is, for the most part, quite friendly.
But interestingly, the nicest people on this server are bronzies. The people who can't tell their ass from their elbow are actually quite amiable.

It might take the fun out of it for...you? But you're arguing for people to be more tolerant of your shenanigans while failing to sympathize with their perspective, I think.
For someone trying to work on just mechanics, or just fundamentals, sure, technically getting against a bunch of random shit might test them and make them think, but it's probably more just annoying, depending on the strategy, and whether the person has the sense to leave when it's clear that their cute thing did or didn't work. Or if it did work, that maybe that person is having a bad day because he's trying to learn something, and people on the ladder are just being fucking annoying. You talk about it ruining your fun. But what about theirs? I'm not saying you SHOULDN'T do what you want to, I'm just saying your post doesn't take them into account and is just one-sided and silly.

I will hazard a guess that you have either brown, black, or blonde hair.

I don't think many people aim for the pro-scene but just for the competitive aspect of the game because - hold your breath - winning feels great!
Unfortunately many people are too lazy in mind to accept the fact that there are still better players between them and IM.MVP and thus when they lose on ladder, they cant accept it. they rage and call you a stupid cheeser, noob (for whatever reason ^^) or just some other bullshit.
Being in gold myself, I know I could be better if I spent more time with the game but for the moment I enjoy losing to op roaches (kisses), winning against 4gates and nexus-firsting my way through the terran branches, sometimes losing, sometimes winning (though marauder are still op :D)
In the end it's a bad habit to put too much emotions into that game, it can make your day when you stomp the third idiot in a row trying to canno rush you but it can also ruin your day if you lose against three op cannon rushers.
And i will hazard a guess that everybody in this thread is over 3 years old.

If you want to grind macro and nothing else, find someone to play custom games with. If you want to play Starcraft, go play on the ladder.
