Ok, so my friends doing this Zine project. Basically it's a local convention where people come from all around the area to share art of various forms. Illustrators, writers, and photographers all compile this thing called a "Zine", basically a mini magazine. My friend's idea is to compile a bunch of quick poems from a bunch of people with a similar structure and guidelines.
The rules of each poem are simple.
Choose a text message from your inbox as a title. Write six words per line, and three lines, for a total of eighteen words(see my example below). It doesn't have to rhyme, feel free to use enjambment(sentences run through one line into the next).
He promises to produce an online copy as well. He told me he was having trouble gathering a multitude of submissions to fill the pages of his zine so i figured i'd try and help him out with this blog!
Once he's compiled the poems I'll try to update this blog with the full project if there's enough interest in it. No money will be made from this project, it is simply a way to share creativity and self expression. Also, credit by name will be given to each poem's writer.
Here Is the poem I wrote.
"Right on sounds groovy"
Indeed it does, groovy is sound.
Everything i've lost, is everything found.
Mac N Cheese please, homeward bound.
So what do we think TL? I think this is an opportunity for us to make some quick poems for the sake of creating. The subject matter can be anything you'd like. It can be quirky, funny, sad, happy, enlightened, delighted, sorrowful, apathetic, nerdy, astute, sc2 related, non sensical or whatever. The idea is to have fun with it.
Feel free to leave a submission here on the blog, or if you wish to privately submit your poem to the guy making the Zine use the following link. If you send it in via email be sure to leave a name, it can be your real name, your TL alias, or a completely random handle, your choice. Feel free to post as many as you'd like. And again, have fun with it!

Thanks guys, I encourage everybody to at least give this a shot. It's interesting to write a poem based on a title you did not choose directly. Hoping for some good writings.
