Hey TL! I'm AxonHD or just Axon. Before I start posting on the forums, I thought I'd give you guys a little introduction to who I am.
I'm a 23 year old High Diamond Protoss player from NA. Unlike what seems to be most of you, I did not get into Starcraft until around December of 2010 (definitely a late bloomer!), BUT like most of you I quickly found myself immersed in its complexity and gameplay. Since then, I've been a lurker of TL and decided it was finally time to become active in the community. I really want to try to get into Masters (and of course GM at some point :o) and in general improve my play. It is my goal to compete in the open bracket of an upcoming MLG, and hopefully even win a few games. I'm thinking about getting some coaching in the future, but I feel like I need to perfect my mechanics first. In fact, just yesterday I was playing a game against a Masters Zerg where I was ahead, but misclicked and blew up my Mothership that was ready for TWO vortexs TT. I defintely have my work cut out for me, but its a challenge I readily accept. Also, I recently got X-split so I'm working on starting a stream as well. I'll apply for a stream on TL when I get the opportunity. Feel free to come check it out!
My life outside of Starcraft is fairly hectic. I'm from the Gulf South, but I'm currently a 1st year medical student in the midwest. People tell you how much you have to study in medical school, but I don't think its really possible to grasp just how much until you actually live it. It is absolutely insane. Finding a good balance between school and starcraft (as well as working out) is a challenge that I am striving to overcome. I plan on playing as much as school allows me to, which should be at least a few games everyday before I go to bed (unless we have a test the next day or so). I also am a huge sports fan, especially American Football (I played in high school), but I've been fairly disappointed with how the NFL is being run lately so I've been getting a lot more into the E-Sports SC scene and enjoy it just as much if not more.
For the most part, I feel like I'm just a normal dude who loves Starcraft. My SC name is Axon and my character code is 121, so don't be a stranger. I sincerely hope that I can contribute to the community and help make TL and the Starcraft community a better place! I will post a link to my stream when I get it up and running.

Hi Axon! Welcome to TL
I'm also a diamond Protoss and my girlfriend's a first year vet student at UPenn, so I definitely understand where you're coming from with the workload. I'm a PhD student at Rutgers in New Jersey, and it's definitely tough balancing higher education with hobbies.
Good luck, and hope to see you around the forums!

My PhD is in math education, and while I taught several classes along the way to complete my master's in math education as well (e.g. student teaching), I'm not a math teacher at the moment. However, I currently work as a math tutor at multiple public centers (and privately), as well as substitute teach from time to time. My bachelor's was in mathematics as well. And after I complete my doctorate, I'll directly start work as either a high school teacher or a college professor

And they don't have to put up with parents, or immature kids, and the preparation for class is easier... lol.
