After months of planning, payments, and general crazy and confusion, I've finally been accepted to go to Seoul in the fall to study at Korea University! It feels great, and although I'll miss the great city of Chicago, and my second city of Minneapolis, I'm really excited to go somewhere new!
This is my one chance in life to go visit another culture on the opposite side of the world. I'll have my challenges, and I'll have my problems when I get there, but I hope to find out enough about myself and Korea to make it a worthwhile experience.
Considering everything I hope to do, I'll be very busy. Math will still be my primary focus, but I aim to get very involved in the program's a-la-carte excursions to other parts of the country. Don't worry everyone, pictures will be taken. I'm definitely investing in a DSLR camera for the semester..I don't think I can afford not to!
Seoul is almost 100% WiFi enabled, so I'll still be as connected as I am now, as Internet is dirt cheap there. I'm so excited to be in the most technologically advanced city in the world! I hope other people feel the same way I do, and people in my program are nerdy like me and hopefully they'll want to visit Mok-Dong Studios to visit the GSL with Tastosis <33!! Yes, I'll be attending StarCraft events while I'm there, hopefully a Brood War Proleague match or OSL Finals so I can see the true passion of the fans in Seoul for Brood War. It'll be awesome!!!
Since my primary source of income is up in the air for the summer, I'll be scrambling to figure all of that out, but as of right now, it's all looking good!
Well...the Bulls are on, and for the record, I'll still be watching every Bulls, Blackhawks, Bears, and Sox game I can while I'm abroad. I have so many methods...not even thousands of miles can stop me from getting my Chicago sports fix. I shall post again later!
Until then, annyeong!

Why didn't you? We could've gone to GSL!

You're gonna enjoy yourself for sure. I'm assuming you're 20+?
Go to GSL by yourself if no one else wants to go, it's still HELLA fun.
Also, eat EVERYTHING.

Oh you know it. I decided to do this because I know I have to come back for a fifth year, so I might as well spend some time abroad! So excited for it!
I don't plan on taking too many rigorous courses. One numerical methods class and then the rest will be language and culture and such.

Holy fucking shit! That's awesome! Korea Uni is pretty highly ranked right? You're a genius! Good job!
