esports Esports eSports e-Sports ESPORTS ESports E-sports e-sports This is getting quite silly. Can we please find one way of saying it and keep it? esports seems to be the proper one because its actually grammatically correct. But we need to find a standard, as seeing 10 in common usage gets quite annoying.    | ||

I guess I'll give a serious answer. I don't think it matters, it might annoy certain people but the fact is there isn't a golden standard because it's still sort of a vague concept. Wait for it to grow and get more hashed before expecting a common, universal spelling. | ||

This has a good listing of the various spellings of email, and how they are/were used. Esports is basically the same thing, to distinguish it from regular sports, as email from regular mail... that being said, I've always liked eSports. I don't know why, it looks like a cool brand name or something. The only variance would be if, it is at the beginning of a sentence, I would do Esports. So the capitalization isn't fuxord. All caps does have a pretty awesome look to it though. | ||

Since it's not a proper noun either, the correct formatting should be either "e-sports" or "esports". I think the former is more appropriate, otherwise individuals unfamiliar with the term would probably be tempted to read it as "es-port-s". So, "e-sports" is realistically the only viable correct spelling and formatting. | ||

I don't like ESPORTS cause it seems like shouting or an acronym. I think the best is electronic sports for an editorial or article and e-Sports for regular forum posts and whatnot. I don't think I'll be in the dictionnary soon enough so no official nomenclature for a while | ||
