Alright, so now that im getting pretty into this game, Im actually having a lot of fun with it. It's taking me longer than expected to finish and some of the puzzles are very challenging and unique to this game, compared to the regular Zelda formula. Like fuck, when I threw a pot at a door I never actually expected it to open. I was just fucking around.
Although in every way I see it, it just seems like a watered down link to the past, its just fucking fun. I can't explain it. It's got its own sense of music, humor and other easter egg type things that make it just fun. Anyways on with the show, last time I left you after finishing the 3rd dungeon.
So I make my way to the Animal Village, which as the name suggests is a village full of talking animals. I have to grab my friend from home and get her to sing to wake up a fucking fat lazy walrus, similar to links adventure with the flute, and similar to pokemon with the snorlax. Also, I love the music in Animal Village, its quirky but it's addicting to listen to. I would bet if you asked someone who played this game the most memorable tune other than the classic LoZ theme they would say this one.
Like UHH FUCK, eargasm.
Next, I go looking for the Angler key to get to the next dungeon. Head to some desert and face a mini boss that has a sandworm and a suction towards the middle of the screen. Go back, use the key, jump off a fucking waterfall and BAM, dungeon number 4 here I come.
I guess this dungeon could also be noted as the water dungeon, as most of it is covered in water and you actually find the flippers to swim as an item here. Sweet, I was wondering when I would be able to swim. I go onto face a really easy squid boss that just chases me in a circle. Then I find my way to the final boss who is a fucking badass.
What a different boss. An underwater, side scrolling swimming fish boss. Sounds really weird. But it works. Its really fun and the first time you go underwater and see that fish your like holy fuck im fighting underwater omfg. He's pretty easy, which seems to be a trend for bosses in LA, they all talk to you and they are all easy.
BLOOP, BLOOP! GLUB, GLUB!
So bam get another instrument, that looks pretty much the same as all the other ones and get outta there. I decide to explore around the map with my new found swimming ability, then I head to the next dungeon. BTW, this phone booth guy is really helpful and I find myself constantly going to the phone to figure out where to go next.
But wait, Im walking around and a fucking ghost follows me. Like an asshole. He won't stop till I take him home, so I find his home. He's like wow, just as I left it FUCK IT LETS LEAVE. Then I have to take him to the graveyard, I check every tomb, but he wants his own special one outside the graveyard. So I go find that and take a picture with him. Great.
I go swimming and dive under some rocks to reach Catfishes Maw, Dungeon 5. I actually really enjoyed the concept of this dungeon, it had me puzzled for a while. There seemed to be rooms with no point, until I realized I had to chase the mini boss around in order, of these rooms and kill him 4 times until he gave me the hookshot. FUCK, it was hard but satisfying, the hookshot opens up so much of the map, and is so satisfying to use, sometimes I just hookshot enemies instead of swording them.
Number of blocks in the room = the sequence order in which it is
After you get the hookshot the dungeon is pretty straight forward. I see the mini boss, but I already have the nightmare key so I dont fight him, its the double Ghoma from LoZ and I can't afford the bow yet so fuck it. Go to the boss, who again is really easy, hook him and slash hook and slash hook adn slash win win win.
KEE HEE HEE I SHALL EAT YOU
Finish this shit, explore the world with the hookshot. Go find the ancient boss guy to get the next key after buying my 999$ fucking bow. Jesus. Then I fight armos, the first boss from Lttp by spamming arrows. Get the "face" key, what, onto the "face shrine". Interesting name.
This dungeon is pretty hard too. The dungeons in this game have excellent puzzles just as LttP did. I grab the level 2 bracelet and can pick up elephant statues. I thought they were switches for a good 10 minutes. Grrr. Also there is a sequence where you need to throw horse heads till they both are up, and it seems completely random which is annoying. The mini boss requires your new glove and is basically the classic kids game, "throw a cannon ball at eachother".
Again the nightmare boss is lame, drop bombs on him and win. He is just a face in the floor, with no real threat to you. Worst boss in the game so far.
Im a face, in the floor, what you gunna do bitch?
That's where Im at for progress. As for random stuff, im still in this huge game long trading sequenece that I have no clue what it does. Still getting sea shells that I have no idea what they do. And still barely finding heart peices, which seem very hard to get in this game. Just found out I gotta find the orcarina, cause some bitch frog wouldnt teach me his song. Also found out the way to the colour dungeon, which I might do cause I heard you get some special shit for it.
Overall Progress:
Legend of Zelda (Completed) - 10 Hours
