So recently our friendly neighbourhood HardlyNever made the observation that a lot of casuals don’t like to play as much because they’re afraid of cheese and all-ins. His suggestion, mysteriously not well received by us Liquidians, was that there should be no fog of war for the first 3 minutes. Though his idea might not have been the best, I have taken the liberty of brainstorming a number of much better, if not completely brilliant, solutions to this problem. All of you who read this, make sure to let Blizzard know how much you support my genius. Without further adieu:
1) Bnet has Facebook integration right ? Make it so that whenever someone places a building outside their base, makes attacking units early on, or cuts workers at any point in the game, a message is automatically posted to their Facebook that proclaims to all their friends that they’re diddlers.
2) Have an ability in the Command Center, Hatchery, and Nexus that, similar to WC3 Human’s Call to Arms or whatever, will temporarily turn the workers into Thors, Ultralisks, or Colossus respectively.
3) Make all main bases up a ramp and bring in that lava from the single player. The whole map (except the mains of course) will flood with lava and kill everything down there every 30 seconds. You will, of course, be warned by the Adjutant.
4) Terran should start with 3 short range nukes at the start of them game that can only be launched in an area around the Command Center about the size of the Sensor Tower’s radius.
5) The portrait for the Hatchery (I mean the little picture in the UI at the bottom) should be replaced by a picture of Idra. It will automatically yell insults at the other player every 15 seconds for the first 12 minutes.
6) Protoss should start the game with a Mothership that can’t leave the main base until you research the “GTFOutta Here” upgrade in the Fleet Beacon.
7) Allow players to, when under attack and at risk of losing, flee to a different map.
8) Make it so that you can disguise your base as a circus. Who doesn’t like the circus ?
9) Give each player 6 weak units at the start of the game that they can use to look around early on to see if they’re getting cheesed, provided they’re not awful. Sorry that was stupid. I take it back !
If we want our precious game to remain fun for everyone, we absolutely need some, if not all, of the above solutions to be implemented ASAP. By supporting this most important cause, you will surely be remembered by generations of semi-brain dead dedicated gamers to come !

These two are amazing

I realized it was a joke at #5. Therefore 5/5.

Lol, I'm flattered you liked my post enough to make a blog about it.
Can you read bolded disclaimers?
Edit: Clearly not.

Lava should be on every single map on the ladder imo, this is a no brainer.

We should just have more island maps. You can't cannon rush or worker rush or whatever if you don't have transport. ^_^
OR
nr20min should be enforced by Battle.net. Like, the attack-command for units and buildings is just grayed out and can't be used, like zerglings are for the guy who picks banelings in monobattles. If pylon blocking or w/e gets to be a problem, there could be an artifical line down the center of the map and its only when your units cross the line that you can't attack (before 20 minutes)

Hahahahaha quite the interesting read that's for sure. But if suggestion #2 were to come true the terran metagame would shift to maxing out on workers and then floating your CC to outside the opponents base, turn all your workers into thors and destroy the other guy in 5 seconds with 200 thors.
|
That thread was pretty dumb, I agree.

Yea, sure, why not? Let's just make all units and buildings invulnerable for 45 minutes?

ROFL I can honestly say I haven't considered that. Good catch !

I don't know what a Diddler is...
But this thread should be spotlighted.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
Brilliant ^^ And I fully support the circus.

How about just adding statistics to battle.net so that you can see someone's average game length before you play them?
EDIT You should be able to see a picture of their chat cloud too so you can know if you need to /ignore them or not.

I would definitely return to the ladder if #5 was implemented...

Haha, bibbit. Class stuff here!
